Photo Inspiration

Good morning!  It's time for this weeks challenge  at Christmas Stampin All Year Long!  This is our last challenge for the year and I'm sad and will miss them but I do have all my Christmas cards and packages all finished up!  I'm so ahead of the game for the Christmas season!  I'm usually scrambling at the last minute. :)

We're signing off in style this week with some awesome new Kenny K images!  Not only did he supply us with some fabulous images to work with, but he is generously offering our participants the chance to win some of his wonderful images.

Here's my card using Kenny K's Sleigh:

This card has lots of glitz and glamour!  I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using a combo of copic markers and a lead pencil.  To add a little more razzle dazzle, I added some Martha Stewart fine crystal glitter to the trim of the sleigh and a few or the packages.  The Christmas Package border is also from Martha Stewart's border punches.  Papers are from Recollections.

Ink It Up-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

Wow!  We are one challenge away from our last Christmas Stampin All Year Long challenges.  This has been a great year and I have enjoyed seeing all your great creations and wanted to take the time to say Thanks for playing along.

Today's challenge is to put ink on a stamp that hasn't ever seen ink before!  It can be a new stamp or one you have in your stash!  Most of my stamps have seen ink at one time or another but I was able to pull this one out and show it some love!  It's Warm Wishes For The Holidays and it's from Rubber Stampede.  I think I bought it last year but it has never seen ink.

I colored it using prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  I added some glossy accents to the noses, eyes and bells on rudolph!

Sketch Challenge Favorites-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

It's time for this weeks challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Long.

Jingle All The Way-CSAYL

Time is clicking by and Christmas will be here before we know it!  I'm pretty prepared  with my cards this year thanks to Christmas Stampin All Year Long!  An if you haven't already been participating it's still not too late!  Today our challenge is to use bells on your cards.  Our wonderful sponsor this week is Creations by AR!.

She has some fabulous Christmas templates and  one of  our lucky participants will get to choose two of them for there very own!  I chose this fun fireplace template to work with.

I printed the template on red card stock and following the directions I cut and scored it where needed.  I used a ruler and fine tipped marker to draw in the brick lines.  Using my Martha Stewart punch I created the boughs and wreath and embellished them with punched bells and red stickles.  The fire was colored using copic markers.  The sentiment is SU's All Year Cheer II.

Spark-lay, we love spark-lay

This is first post for today.  Be sure to check out The Greeting Farm challenge and Bugaboo's Freebie Friday above.

It's time for this weeks Christmas Stampin All Year Long challenge and I'm so excited!  Not only are we making cards with lots of sparkle, but this weeks sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps!!!  I love me some Bugaboo!!

One of the things I love about Christmas is all the sparkle!  From the shimmery snow to the glowing lights to all the pretty wrapping papers.  So with that in mind, I came up with this Christmas scene side step card using Bugaboo's Ava Christmas Sitter and AKV House.  .

I printed the image on white card stock and colored them using copic markers and then fussy cut them.  I drew in the lights on the house using a sharpie marker. The Christmas tree was made  using  three punched circles measuring  1 7/16, 1 7/8 and 2 5/16.  I'll post a tutorial for this on Sunday.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.

Seeing Spots-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

It's getting closer to Christmas and I'm so prepared this year thanks to these weekly challenges.  How about you?  If you haven't joined us at Christmas Stampin All Year Long, now's a good time to jump in and get started!  We have another great sponsor this week!  Paper Makeup Stamps and they are offering  a $15 gift certificate to the winner of this challenge. The theme for this challenge is "Seeing Spots"  so we wanna see those polka dots on your cards and projects.  The CSAYL  team and I have been busy creating cards to inspire you!  Here's my card using Paper Makeups Lars image:

I printed the image on white card stock and colored the main image using a lead pencil and the presents using watercolor pencils.  I also masked the panel and colored it using a lead pencil and smudged it with my finger.  I then sprayed it with hairspray to prevent further smudging.  For the polka dots I used a fine tip marker and added some dotting around the image.  There are also polka dots in my background paper from My Minds Eye and Daisy D.  The banner is from Shannon's Sentiment and I also added some pencil smudging to it too.

It's Purple Time-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

Christmas has gone purple this week!  At least it has at Christmas Stampin All Year Long.  This is not a problem for me since I love the color purple.  And what better images to work with for a purple challenge than a Pink Cat Studio image?!!  They're sponsoring this challenge with five free images to the winner!

Now that you have the deets, how about a some inspiration from myself and the team?!!  Here's my card using the image I created using Pink Cat Studio's new Digi Stamp Designer Program  that launched yesterday!!!  You're gonna love it!!!

I started with the basic Lily body, added the hair, dress, wings, holly on the head band, ornament and bird and got this cute image.  I printed it on white card stock and colored it using a combnation of copic markers and prismacolor pencils.  I paper pieced the dress and added glossy accents on the ornament and fur,  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.

Keeping it simple-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

Here's my card using Rudolph!  What a cutie!!!

Since Rudolph came in PNG form, I was able to add the sentiment and ornament using my photo editing.  I colored him using prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  Just a few embellishments and some matting and I was done.

Inspiration Time-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

Yippee!  It's Friday and we made it through the week!  Time for this weeks challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Long!  

I'm super excited  to announce that Bugaboo Stamps (my other design team)   is sponsoring this weeks challenge with some really great images for us to share with you and a fabulous prize.  Actually we have two prizes this week.  One lucky winner will win a $21.00 gift certificate from Bugaboo Stamps and one lucky winner will be chosen to be our guest designer in an upcoming challenge in October. Playing off the reds and whites in this picture I came up with this card.

Ava Christmas Sitter

I printed the image on white card stock and colored her using Prismacolor images.  The sentiment was created on my computer using Print Shop.  I printed it on printer paper, glued it to the back of this designer paper and fussy cut it.  Sounds like a lot of work but with mostly straight lines, it took no time at all.  To give her a little extra sparkle, I added some glossy accents and dazzling diamonds to her hat.  Card base is 4 1/4 square.

Celebrate Teachers-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

Good morning and welcome this this weeks challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Long.  Today we're creating projects to give to teachers,  They do so much and it's nice to give back to them.

I chose to make a three in one gift for this one.  It's a card, a bookmark and inside I made a space for either a picture of my child or a gift card.

The image I used is Changito Elf from Stampendous.  I colored him using copic markers.  The card size is 3 1/2 x 4 1/2.  I created the sentiment for the inside on my computer.using Amery font.

CSAYL-Monochromatic

Good morning!  Happy Friday to you all!   It's time for this weeks Christmas Stampin All Year Long challenge.  Today  the team and I are keeping things monochromatic.  Using one shade of color.  I love the richness of red-brown tones and so that's what I chose for my card.

The stamped image is from Just Rite stamps and is stamped with Cranberry ink on Cranberry paper.  I had this great dp that has the same tones to pair it with.

Non Traditional Packaging-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

Good morning!  How was your week?  Can you believe it's Friday already?!!!  This week has gone so fast.  It's already time for another challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Long.  This week we're doing it up non-traditionally and making packages.  When I say non-traditional I'm referring to color, you can use any colors but reds or greens. Our sponsor for this weeks challenge is the fabulous Perfect Presentation and they have so generously offered a free template to the winner of it!  So what are you waiting for?!!!  Let's get started!!!

The team and I have been busy creating some wonderful samples to inspire you.  Here's what I did:

I went with their Tall Gable Box template for my project.

I printed the template on Really Rust (I had to ask my family if this looked red and they informed me it was more of an orange than a red) card stock.  All I had do after that was make my cuts and scores and embellish.  The image is Warm & Cold from Penny Black stamps and I colored it using prismacolor pencils.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up's Snowflake set (retired).

Time to get inspired-CSAYL

I love all kinds of challenges but I think my favorite has to be inspiration challenges.  You get a picture to look at and let it take your creative imagination on a journey.  This weeks challenge  at Christmas Stampin All Year Long is a inspiration challenge.  Here's the picture that inspired the team to create some really great cards!

Such a great picture and so many choices.  Should I use the cakes to inspire me to create something yummy or the shapes of the plates or the color pallete?  I  loved that the colors weren't traditional Christmas colors so I chose to challenge myself in that direction and this is what I came up with.

I started by printing this cute Bugaboo Stamps image on watercolor paper.  I colored the image using Stampin Ups watercolor pencils and a watercolor brush.  To give it that cool wintry feel I added some snowflakes, glitter and sentiment from my Snowflakes set (Stampin Up retired).

Gimme The Bird-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

I'm a serious bird lover!  My kitchen is filled with anything and everything roosters (love all the colors), I have bird feeders and bird baths on my patio and just love it when I hear the familiar call of a cardinal (my favorite bird), so it should come as no surprise that I love bird images too.  I was so excited to see that this weeks challenge was to use a Christmas bird image on our projects!  Pink Cat Studio, our fabulous sponsor this week, has some really cute bird images with a Christmas theme and we get the awesome privilege of working with them.

Sketch Time-CSAYL

Wow!  It's seems like it's been forever since I've been able to do the challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Long.  Our move really took a toll on my stamping, but I'm back and it's time for this weeks challenge and what a fun one it is!  We're doing a sketch challenge! I love sketch challenges cause half the work is already done.  All that's left is to pick papers and images and get going.  Now,  I tend to follow sketch challenges to a tee, but they can really be interpreted any way you like.  Flip em, substitute alternate shapes.  It's whatever you want to do as long as we can still see the basic sketch.

I have a stash of images that I've already color so the layout was done, image was done all I had to do was pick the paper so I dove into my stash of scraps for this one.

Inspiring Christmas-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

Today at Christmas Stampin All Year Long, it's time to get inspired!  I love inspiration challenges!!  It's so much fun  to look around at the things we see in every day life, photographs, gardens, magazines, and create cards that draw from those things.  You can find inspiration in just about anything but this week we've got that one covered for you.  Here is our muse:

As you can see I chose to be inspired by the colors, but you may notice I also played on the circular shape of the wreath by choosing this cute snowman image from Penny Black stamps.  I colored him using copic markers.

Kids and Christmas, they go together great-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

Good morning!!!  We made it through the week.  I am now on day three of my summer job.  A job that I thought I was well suited for but I have to tell you, it's kicking my hiney!!!!  I am painting, not on a canvas, but walls-and every bone and muscle in my body is screaming "STOP"!  LOL  Oh well, I'll just push past the pain and keep working and hope that my body caves to the pressure of knowing that I won't quit!!!

One good way to take my mind off the aches is to post this weeks challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Long.  We're making cards with kids in mind!!!   I had the best time making this weeks card.  I love the image and have been wanting to create something with it ever since I got it, the problem was it is a winter image and I got it in spring.  Here's my fun kids winter card:

A Kids View-Winter Ski

This little guy is one of the many cute images from Bugaboo stamps and her sure knows how to have fun. 

I colored him using copic markers and then fussy cut him and placed him right in the middle of the winter scene I created with designer papers and dazzling diamonds.  Throw in some snowflakes and a sentiment and called it done.
