Cuttlebug Be Inspired 34

Good morning all my blogging friends. It's time for this week's Cuttlebug Be inspired Challenge. This week we are challenging ourselves and you to cut into that Basic Grey paper and make something beautiful. I know it's hard, but together we can do it. Just say to yourself " I bought it because I love it, I can use it because it wants to feel loved".

I've had the Infuse paper that I used for my card for quite a while and have admired it long enough. It's time to admire it in it's next form. A card.

Using my Cricut and Storybook Cart, I cut the hearts and marquee. I ink embossed the heart using my Cuttlebug and Argyle folder. I also embossed the marquee panel using the textile folder (one of my faves). That beautiful DP as I said before is Infuse from Basic Grey and inspired my color pallette. I added the champagne ribbon and flowers just to give it a little something extra.

Cuttlebug Be Inspired 32

Good afternoon! I know I'm late getting this posted but it couldn't be helped.

One of the perks of my job working with children is that they are very sharing. Sometimes that's good, sometimes that's bad. In this case it would be bad. One of my kiddos thought it would be nice to share a nasty little stomach bug with me. Whew! I hope I don't ever have to see that one again. So that explains my absence but I'm feeling much better now and it's time to post this week's Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge.

Today our theme is Butterflies & Hearts and the fine people at Provo Craft will be giving one lucky participant a prize package. Nice, huh?


I wish I had taken a closeup of the butterfly cause it's really pretty. I cut and embossed it in Vellum using my Cuttlebug and Butterflies folder/die. I then cut another butterfly in blue and attached the vellum to it. After they had dried I covered the butterfly with Glossy Accents. The DP is from Nana's Nursery. The butterfly border was made using my Cricut and Graphically Speaking Cart and attaching the border to white satin ribbon. I added the scalloped oval and border and a stamped sentiment (Floral Whimsey) and it was done. I love the blue and white combo don't you?

Cuttlebug Be Inspired # 31

Good morning and welcome to this week's Cuttlebug Be Inspired challenge. Today's project is brought to you courtesy of the fabulous people at Create My Treasures. Each one on the design team received a book to alter. Mine was a tag book which I chose to make into a mini baby brag book.

Let me tell you, they have a wonderful product that is super easy to work with and very well made.

I started off by tracing the outline on the back of my DP (Provocraft) and then adhering it using Mod podge. Just on the back though. I wanted the paper to keep it's true color. Almost all of the images were cut using my Cricut and Storybook and Graphically Speaking carts. The "baby boy" was cut using my Cuttlebug and Welcome Baby Die. I also embossed the "precious" using my Welcome Baby folder. The stars and swirls are glittered with Dazzling Diamonds. The rest of the book is filled with mats and all ready to filled with pictures of a sweet little gem.

Cuttlebug Challenge Be Inspired #30

Hi all and welcome to this weeks Cuttlebug Be Inspired challenge. We have been blessed this week to work with some really great products from Creative Cuts And More. Their products are three dimentional and come prescored so all you have to do is fold and assemble and add your own details.

This week we are a doing wedding/anniversary projects with them. At first I thought I wanted to do a silver anniversary theme, but after working on it I completely changed courses and kept it simple and all white, just adding lots of texture.

I very carefully ran the front and back through the Cuttlebug using my Textiles Folder. I had to fold the sides and make sure the were folded away from the pressing portion(if that makes any sense. I added some lace around the top portion and a border made with my Threading Water Punch along the front piece. I embossed the border with my Frills Folder and added some lace and a flower(wedding section at Michael's. it still needed a little something else so I added and embossed scalloped circle and die cutted hearts. The hearts are glittered with Dazzling Diamonds. I had a hard time getting a good picture of my project but it's really elegant looking.

Cuttlebug Relax,Rejuvenate, Be Inspired Baby Project

Hello and welcome to my project for the Cuttlebug Challenge Spa Weekend Retreat. I have several friends and family members expecting babies so it was easy for me to decide which project I wanted to sign up for.

For this set I stamped onesies and made this cute little baby wreath.

For the onesies number one I stamped the flower image (Rhonna Farrer) on a piece of cotton cloth that had been adhered to two sided fusible webbing. I found mine at my nearby Hancocks fabric.

After stamping the image I then cut it out and ironed it to the onesie. I then stamped the sentiment right on the onesie. You need to use a pigment based ink for this so it will be permanent.

For onesie number two I just cut out heart shapes from my fabric and adhered them in the same manner as the first one. I also made a cute little box with an acetate lid for them to go in.

Next, how about a gift that is not only functional but decorative as well?

Can you imagine the smile you will put on some new mom's face when she sees this cute little baby wreath? It's made with a teething ring, pacifiers and baby washcloths, all of which can be used for the new baby. It was super easy too!

To make one of these yourself you will need the following items.

• (1)Teething ring
• (9) Baby washcloths
• (3) Pacifiers
• (12) 6 inch strips of ribbon
• Wide ribbon
• Wire ribbon for bow
• (2) Safety pins
• Gift tag (I made mine with my Cricut, George Cart, Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots and Frills Folder and Welcome Baby Die)

Cuttlebug Be Inspired # 29

Happy Wednesday! We've made it to the middle of the week. Just two more days til the weekend and our fun Cuttlebug Spa Weekend Blog Hop. It's gonna be the best and you won't want to miss it.

Speaking of Cuttlebug, it's time for this week's Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge.

Today we are honoring our moms, since Mother's Day is just right around the corner, and making Mother's Day cards. We're not only making cards, we're making matching envelopes too. Mom's love that sort of stuff you know?

Here is what I did with the images:

I just printed the flowers on my printer and colored them with my Copic markers. They are layered over a border made with my Threading Water Punch, Heart Border Punch and Frills Cuttlebug Folder. The letters were made using my Cricut & George cart, layering them and embossing them with my Swiss Dots Folder. Of course I had to add a little ribbon and a Prima and check out that matching envelope. The perfect combination. This one is all set to go out to my mother-in-law. She's gonna love it!

Cuttlebug Be Inspired # 28

Good morning and welcome to this week's Cuttlebug Be Inpired Challenge. Have we got a treat for you today.

Our theme this week is "Home Sweet Home" and our sponsor is none other than Marks Paper Company. Wow! I love these papers and I think you will too. Check out the framed art I made using some of the papers from their Old Fashioned Courtship Collection.

Here is a closeup of the flowers.
I started by cutting out two of the flowers and making them my focal point. I added some crystal effects to the flower tops for a little extra beauty. For the background piece, I used my textiles folder and sanded it to reveal the core. Since the paper is two sided I couldn't resist folding one of my corners. I finished it off with brads, lace and ribbon.

Cuttlebug Be Inspired 27

Hello! Wow can you believe it's Wednesday already! This week is going so fast.

It's time for another Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge. Since it is Tax week and some of us are crunching numbers we thought it might be fun to put a different spin on it and play around with numbers.

At first I thought this was gonna be a tough one because I don't have the numbers folder. Then I remembered that Regina from The Cutting Cafe has some cool calenders that were just right for this challenge. I decided to make a Mother's Day card. I know my mom is not with me anymore, but if she were, she would love this card.

I just printed the calender and added the heart with the punched heart over the date. The "mom" is a rub on. I used my Stylized Flowers folder to emboss the white card stock. The flowers and hearts and scalloped circle were all cut with my Cricut. See how nice and evenly spaced the flowers are? I inserted them in the holes I punched with my Threading Water Punch. For a little added pizzaz I pulled out some champagne colored ribbon and cording. Such a nice touch, don't you think?

Cuttlebug Be Inspired 26

Good morning and welcome to this week's Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge. Today we are adding vellum to our cards or projects.

Vellum is great for embossing and adds a softness which is why I chose to do an Easter card for mine. When I think of Easter I think of soft pastel colors. Here is my card.

The image is Miracle Of Spring (retired) from Stampin Up. I embossed Birds & Swirls on a piece of polka dotted vellum and then sponged Eggplant on it. The scalloped border and sentiment oval were cut using my Cricut. I colored the images with Copics and added Glossy Accents. In retrospect, I think I should have added some nice corner details.

Cuttlbug Be Inspired 25

We are having Sheetloads of fun today! Cuttlebug Challenge and Sheetload have paired up for an intersite challenge today. What fun!!!

If you aren't familiar with Sheetload you seriously need to check them out. Especially if you are a busy crafter and like the idea of maximizing your time and supplies. You won't be dissappointed.

Not only are we doing an intersite challenge but Alecia, the owner of Sheetload and creator of Shorcuts, has sent us these wonderful frosted and clear blanks. They're fabulous to work with and so easy. They come prescored so all you do is fold and create and the results are so eyecatching. Here is the card I made using the frosted card and the layout that can be found on the Cuttlebug Challenge site.

Isn't that pretty! Love that frosted effect.

The image was stamped with Black Pigment Ink and embossed, then colored with Copics. I used my Argyle, Stylized Flowers and Frills Border Folders for the embossing. I sponged on some color to make the embossing *pop*. I like the elegance of it.

Cuttlebug be inspired 22

It's time! It's time!


Time to break out those punches cause for this week's Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge, we are getting creative with punches.


This is a good one for me because my punches are quickly taking over my craft room and it's nice to get a little more use out of them. It's amazing the uses you can find for them when you start to think about it.


For my card this week, I used a combination of circle punches, a flower punch and a border punch.

The body was made with my giga Punch and then punching an edge with my giga circle punch. I followed the same process except I reinserted it in the giga punch and punched just part of it. The tail feathers were made with a flower punch, cutting away all but three of the petals. It then embossed the wing and tail feathers with the paisley folder and the body and head with the swiss dots folder.

I free handed the branch and, thanks to my daughter bree and a marti gras mask we made last year that gave me some left over feathers, I was able to set my little blue bird in a nest. I love the way this turned out.

Cuttlebug Be Inspired 22

Good morning! How are you today? Are you ready for a challenge?

It's time for this weeks Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge, and what a great challenge it is. Today we are glittering Sweet'n Sassy Stamps images. Korin has been kind enough to share a couple of the latest digital releases with us and they are fabulous!

I chose to work with the butterfly, because as you know, they are very near and dear to my heart.

The best part about working with digital images for me was the ability to adjust the size of the image. I chose to make my butterfly very large and placed it on a 5 1/2 inch square card.

I just printed it off my computer, colored it with my copic markers and cut it out. I then covered it with crystal stickles and while it was drying I assembled the rest of my card.

A butterfly this big and colorful calls for bling. I pulled out my Say It With Crystals for the butterfly trail and antannaes. I also added some Crystal Stickers to the ribbon. I love how realistic the butterfly looks, don't you?

Cuttlebug Be Inspired 21

Good morning are you ready to be inspired? It's time for another Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge.

Today we are working with watercolors. So break out your watercolor pencils, reinkers, or stamp pads. Whatever medium you have to work with is fine.

I used my stamp pads (pressing them against the closed lids to adhere ink to it) and my aquapainter.

This is one of my all-time favorite images to watercolor. It's Seaside Sketches from Stampin Up and I absolutely love it.

I stamped the image on Fabriano 90 lb watercolor paper with Black Pigment ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder then watercolored using turquoise, summer sun, cranberry, sahara sand, caramel, blush and chocolate chip.

I almost always pair this image with the Swirls folder because it makes me think of ocean waves.

Add the Frills Border Folder, ribbon with hardware and a punched border and this is the end result.

Happy Wednesday and welcome to this week's Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge. This week it's a sketch challenge and we are so excited because it was created by the one and only Valerie Salmon. She has agreed to be our guest designer for this month. Color us lucky!

I have a bonus to add to this. I made a matching basket to go with the card.

Last night I was cleaning up my stamp room and got a little distracted because these papers were still sitting right there on my desk and they were screaming "play with me". What was I to do? I tried ignoring them but just like one of my kids, they only got louder. *Hee hee*

I caved in (just like I do with my kids, I'm such a pushover) and made this cute little weaved basket.

and filled it with Peppermint Patty flowers (no, not the one on Charlie Brown, the candies).

Here is a closeup of the flowers for you. The candy is sandwiched between two flowers and attached to skewers. Cute huh? Here is a picture of the happy couple together.

Cuttlebug-Border Backgrounds Monday

Hello everyone and welcome to this week's Cuttlebug Rendevous. I have a tutorial for you to try. I'm so excited because this is my first tutorial for the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog. Hope you like it and find it informative and inspiring.

We're making backgrounds using our border embossing folders.

For mine I used the flowers from Frills, and the swiss dots from Just My Type.

Now, let's get started.

I started off by finding and marking the center of my card stock on the back so I knew where to place my folder. I used white for demo purposes but you could use colored or even designer papers. It's your choice.
Next, I placed my Frills EF on my background paper making sure to center it and added the Just My Type EF just below it, then I ran it through the cuttlebug using the standard A plate, B plate, EF & Card stock, B plate sandwich. I continued this process , alternating patterns until the whole piece was embossed. The trick here is to only run your piece partway through your cuttlebug on the remaining passes. You don't want to run it all the way through or you will flatten out the parts you've already embossed.

Now you are ready to add color to your piece. I sponged on Pixie Pink and Certainly Celery. See how it makes the embossing *POP*.

Now all that's left to do is add the extras touches and you have a fun and textured card. I made mine a baby card but you could do just about anything with yours.

Good morning folks! Welcome to this week's Cuttlebug Be Inpired challenge brought to by the fabulous design team on the Cuttlebug Challenges Blog. It's a fun one and I'm sure your gonna love it and want to give it a try.

We are embossing acetate this week. I love this technique and have loved it since the very first moment I put acetate in my embossing folder and ran it through my cuttlebug last year. I even had a few cards published in last years Spring edition of Take Ten featuring this technique. Hmmmm............... maybe that's why I love it so much!

Dear hubby gifted me with the Mindy's Zoo stamp set for Valentines Day, so I thought it was only appropriate that I use it on my card.

He also gifted me with the Welcome Baby Embossing Folder and Die Cut. I just love those cute little hearts

I even embossed the giraffe after coloring him with my Copic markers. Isn't he cute? The papers are from Nana's Nursery It's A Boy. The back oval is recessed using dimentionals to make it look like a window. All the ovals were cut using my Coluzzle. The sentiment was made with the Welcome Baby die cut.
