By Lori Designs challenge 8

Good morning!  I have a few things to be excited about today but I'll share the stamping stuff first.

A couple of weeks ago, the card I made for the weekly By Lori Designs challenge was chosen as the top lollipop of the week.  With that win comes a cool badge to be displayed on my blog and chance to guest design on one of their upcoming challenges.  Well, today is that day.  Yippee!  Here are the colors for this weeks challenge
Another one of the perks to winning the challenge was the choice of a new image.  I've been trying to make more masculine cards so I chose this uber cute Lollipop Ethan image and since the colors this week are blues and greens, I thought he would be the perfect choice for my card.
I started my card by printing the image on white card stock and also on plaid designer paper and then paper piecing the camp shirt.  The dp was originally yellow and blue but I colored it with my green galore marker from stampin up to match the challenge  colors.  The rest of the Ethan image was colored using prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up's All About U set (retired).

We'd love for you to join us in this weeks challenge.  Just make a card using the colors above and link it back to the By Lori Designs site by Wednesday 12 midnight.  It's that easy and you have the chance to be named the"Top Lollipop" for the week.

That's the stamping stuff, now the personal stuff.  Can anyone say, "Spring Break"?!!!!   Yeah baby!  Next week is spring break and I can't wait.  A whole week of not getting up before the sun rises, sitting on the banks fishing or just dangling my feet in the water, and hanging out with my favorite people in the world  is gonna be awesome.  I'll miss my stamping friends, but I'll be back online the week after next.   I have a few posts set for autopost and fingers crossed, nothing will go wrong with blogger and they will post but I won't be able to check on them.  It's gonna be a time to focus on family and nothing else so no internet.

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

By Lori Design challenge 7

Good morning my crafty friends. I hope you're having a great morning!   I took it off so the hubby and I can go to our daughters orchestra performance. She made first chair violin so that makes her  the concert master. She also has a solo in the final piece so we are very proud of her and want to show our support. I'm still up early and have an hour or so before we have to leave for the concert, so I wanted to get my card posted for this week's By Lori Design challenge.
For my card I started by coloring the Ella Butterfly image with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  The designer papers I chose are from my So So Sweet mat pack.  To finish it off I did a little paper piercing, added some ribbon and a prima.

I'm off to get ready for the show!  Have a great day and thanks for dropping by!  TTFN

Ella Blue

I finally got around to doing the current challenge at By Lori Designs challenge blog.  This has been a busy week for me but I didn't want to miss out on it.

The colors to use this week are pink, blue, olive and white.  GREAT color combination!  It's such a clean and fresh combo.

I colored Lollipop Ella using Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  The rest is pretty simple.  Just a border and a punched frame using my Label One Nestability and some ribbon and I was done.

I'm heading off to bed now but needed to get this posted first!  Y'all have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

We Heart You

Happy Sunday!  I'm back today with a card for this week's challenge on By Lori Designs.  I finally played around with the BLD image that was included in the Help For Katie package.
I colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  I chose to frame them using my Label One Nestability.  I created the sentiment using Print Shop.  All I had left to do was cut out another heart and pop it up on dimentionals.  I used quite a variety of papers: brown, lime green, white and dp's from Nana's Nursery and a Cricut mat pack.

I'm gonna get this posted and head off to bed!  Nighty night all!  Thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

By Lori Designs challenge #3

I don't know how I missed out on last weeks challenge at BY LORi DESIGNS but somehow I did.  I definitely didn't want to miss this weeks challenge.  The color combo is one of my all time faves.  I love pinks and browns together.
Now this card started off simple enough, with this cute Lollipop Ella image,  a few scallops here and there and some faux stitching, but then I had to add the flower with ribbon and it still looked a little naked to me so I rummaged through my buttons and came across the little dog, bone  and sentiment and threw them on as well and called it done.

I colored her  dress, shoes and bow with copic markers  RV02, RV04, E47.  All her fleshy parts and her hair were colored using prismacolor pencils.  Paper are rose red, brown, kraft and back to basics dp.

I don't know what occasion I would use this card for,  maybe to congratulate someone on getting a new puppy, but I sure had fun making it.

Until next time, have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Prayers for Katie

While going through my Google Reader the other day, I read a post on a friends blog about a fellow stamper who is going through a tough time right now. She found out recently she has stage four gastric cancer. Her name is Katie Rentz and she is a young woman with a husband and three children and she could really use your prayers. She has been courageously blogging about her diagnosis and treatment and you can read about it here, but be prepared to shed some tears as you read about what she is going through. It sure has touched my heart.

I made this card for her today and I'll be sending it on it's way to her on Tuesday along with my prayers.

I used two images of Lollipop Ella (By LORi Designs), flipping one in my photo editing software, so they look like a mirror image. They are both colored with copics and prismacolor pencils. The sentiment was created with Print Shop.

If you would like to send a card to Katie, she has her address posted on her blog here.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! TTFN

Valentine Love Bug

Wow! I'm on a roll this weekend. Three cards so far and I'm pretty sure I'll be stamping more later today. It's gonna be too cold and too wet to do anything outside the house so I might as well stamp, right?!!! The weatherman is even saying we are in for some snow!!!

I made another card with the Lollipop Buggy-Butterfly image from By LORi Designs. I just can't seem to get enough of the little cutie petutie. Isn't she adorable in her Valentines Day colors?!!

Claudia & Company has a challenge on her blog to use tags on your card so I pulled out my Stampin Up tag punch for this one. I stamped the word LOVE on it and heat embossed it and added some ribbon to finish it off.

This card is also for this week's sketch challenge on Paper Craft Planet.

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it with copics and prismacolor pencils.

This is a pretty simple layout, just lots of layers.

Have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by! TTFN

Happy Birthday Butterfly

Hi everyone! I was checking out some of the images on By LORi Designs the other day when I saw she was going to start the new year off with bi weekly challenges. I LOVE challenges so I thought I would give this one a try. It's a color challenge and the deets can be found here.

The colors just screamed spring to me so I used Lollipop Buggy-Butterfly for this one.

I colored her with copics and prismacolor pencils and added her to a layer of colored panel designer paper from my So So Sweet mat pack. Now that my sewing machine is working again, I threw in some stitching around the panels and just for a little fun , I added some flowers to her antennae. (Kind of like those head bands you see from time to time in theme parks)

I finished it off with a punched border with buttons and scallops.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! TTFN

Wow! Two cards in one day! This has to be some kind of record for me. It's easy peasy when the layout is done for you and the image has already been colored.

I printed off a bunch of digital images yesterday and spent most of the day coloring them for later projects.

I made this card for Jen's sketch challenge posted here.

I used my new Lollipop Ella image from By LORi designs and colored her using both Copics and Prismacolor Pencils. I paired her with one of my favorite Stampin Up sets for this time of year. Celebrate U (retired).

The background panel was cut using my Cricut and Storybook cart.

I made the ribbon flower and it's the same color as the ribbon but for some reason (prabably lighting) it looks a lot darker in the picture, but rest assured, it is the same color.

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend and thanks again for stopping by! TTFN
