Arrrgh!!! There be a birthday here-Catch The Bug

When I sat down to create this weeks Oldie But Goodie card for Catch The Bug, I had one thought in mind.  My baby girl is having a birthday today and wouldn't it fitting to make this weeks card a birthday card?!!!  So that's what I did.

Bryanna Bug, this post is dedicated to you.  You came into my life eighteen years ago today and stole my heart from the minute I laid eyes on you.  It's been a joy to watch you go from a sweet, funny little girl to the beautiful and still funny young lady you are today.  Momma loves you!!!!   You never cease to make me laugh and smile.  I hope you continue to find joy in all you do throughout your whole life!

I hope my card puts a smile on your face!

This card was super simple to make.  I just colored the image using copic markers and punched it out using a label two nestabilities.  The sentiment was created using Microsoft Word.  Add some bandana designer paper squares and some sponging and I was done.

For more great cards pop on over to Catch The Bug and check out the fabulous  Oldie But Goodie creations from the team.  Also, check out all the fun oldies and newbies at Bugaboo Stamps.

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!!  TTFN

I colored her body and  the grass using copic markers. For the rest of the image I used prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  The frame around her was created with  my label two nestabilities

A rose is a rose......

There's just nothing like the fragrance of a rose  unless you're a card maker.  If you are,  then there's nothing like a great Rose image and  Bugaboo Stamps has got the perfect one for you. Just in time for Mother's Day!  The best part is it's FREE!  Yes, that's right!  It's Freebie Friday at Bugaboo Stamps and Jodie, the owner and illistrator of Bugaboo, has created the most amazing Rose image.  It's just a click and a download away from being yours.  Take a look at the what I did with it:

Isn't that rose gorgeous!  So beautiful and elegant!

I colored the image using Copics and just sponged around it.  That shiny spot you see is the light catching the glossy accents I coverd the rose in.  All it needed to finish it off was a bow!

For further inspiration be sure to check out the fabulous cards on the Catch The Bug blog to see what the design team created using this image.  They'll knock your socks off for sure!

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Funny Sentiment-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

It's Friday, my favorite day of the week!  I'm sure I share my love for Fridays with quite a few people, especially if you work Monday through Friday like me. Time for the weekend and some time off.  Yeah!

Another reason I love Fridays is that I get to share our current challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Long with you all.  This week our challenge sponsor is Pink Cat Studio

We're supposed to use a funny sentiment on our projects.  Now, I don't know that mine is really all that funny, but it's the only thing I could think of and it went with the image perfectly.

This cute little guy holding the gift is Polar Bear Present and he's ready to celebrate the season!  The tag says "Have an ice Christmas" and I printed it using Print Shop.  With such a "cool' character to work with I just had to add a nice layered snowflake to finish it off!

Won't you join us this week at CSAYL?  We have loads of inspiration to get you started and just think, you could be eligible to win five free images from Pink Cat Studio.

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Spring Flowers-Paper Crafting World

If you're here for this week's Cooking With Cricut challenge  click here.  Since CWC deals mostly with cut files and I do mostly digital images, I have made the switch to the Paper Crafting World  design team.  The challenges are the same on both the CWC site and the PCW site but CWC features cut files and PCW features digi files.  I hope that isn't confusing.

Now that I have that out of the way, I want to welcome you to our first digi challenge at Paper Crafting World.

Spring-Flowers

Here's how it works.  Pop on over to the PCW and pick up your FREE digital image and get started.  Did I say free?!!  Yes, I said free!  There are two to choose from but you must grab them soon.  They are only free the week of the challenge.

You are also welcome to use any digital stamps from PCW that you may have purchased or the many freebies we have given away in the past.

Here's the card I made using one of this weeks free images, Bear In Flower Pot.

For my card, I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  I then cut it out and place it on the panel I cut using my Cuttlebug and Label One nestability.  I pulled out some purple Back To Basics DP and paired it with black and summer sun card stock.  All it needed was a little bit of ribbon to complete it.  Card size is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.

I sure hope you join us in the challenge.  For more inspiration and further details on how the challenge works click here.

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

By Lori Design challenge 7

Good morning my crafty friends. I hope you're having a great morning!   I took it off so the hubby and I can go to our daughters orchestra performance. She made first chair violin so that makes her  the concert master. She also has a solo in the final piece so we are very proud of her and want to show our support. I'm still up early and have an hour or so before we have to leave for the concert, so I wanted to get my card posted for this week's By Lori Design challenge.
For my card I started by coloring the Ella Butterfly image with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  The designer papers I chose are from my So So Sweet mat pack.  To finish it off I did a little paper piercing, added some ribbon and a prima.

I'm off to get ready for the show!  Have a great day and thanks for dropping by!  TTFN

I'm Dreaming Of A White......

No! Wait! Not a white Christmas, a stress free Christmas. How about you? You ready for a stress free Christmas?!! Now I know it's only been a couple of months since we celebrated the season, but it's time for us to kick off the new round of challenges at Christmas Stampin All Year Long or CSAYL for short.  Just think, if you join us from now until November in our weekly challenges, you'll have a boatload of Christmas cards and projects finished. Then you can just sit back and enjoy your favorite holiday beverage and relax.

I'm so excited to tell you that this weeks challenge is being sponsored by the one and only Pink Cat Studio.  We're hoping you'll join us.  The challenge is How Much Bling Can You Bring and we are challenging you to use as much bling as you want.  One lucky winner will recieve five digi images of their choice.
My card uses the oh so cute Birds Make Xmas Cupcake digi image.  Aren't they adorable?!!!  I colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils and Copic markers.  I dotted the cupcake sprinkles with teal stickles and added glossy accents sprinkled with dazzling diamonds glitter to the snowflakes.  The frame around the image was stamped with versamark using the direct to paper method and then dusted with white pearl ex powder.  To add the finishing touch it needed some snowflakes complete with buttons and a crinkled bow.

Here's how the challenges will work: Create a new project and link it to the challenge post on the CSAYL blog. Add a direct link to your creation on the CSAYL blog. Stop by 2-3 other challenge entries and leave them a comment...everyone loves a comment! On Thursday afternoon, the top ten entries will be posted as well as the winner!

I can't wait to see what you do with the challenge!

Until next time, thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  TTFN

Shannon's Sentiments challenge, Getting all fussy

Good morning and welcome to this week's Shannon's Sentiments challenge.

This week we are using a technique called "fussy cutting".  If you've never done fussy cutting before, you're gonna love the look it gives to your crafting projects.  Fussy cutting is done by cutting out an image or images from scrapbook paper and placing it on your card or scrapbook page.  You can see I chose this lovely flower with swirls from a piece of  designer paper from paper studios Oops A Daisy collection.

I cut out the big flower and one small flower which I added to the center of the big one.  It's popped up using dimentionals.  I added a little glossy accents to the flower centers.

For the focal point I chose one of the fabulous sentiments from Shannon's Spring Time set and cut it out using my oval nestabilities and added some sponging to really show it's beauty.

For more inspiration be sure to check out what the other designers have in store for you.

Until next time, thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  TTFN

Swinging by to wish you well

This weeks challenge at Catch The Bug was to make a "Get Well" card. It seems like there is always such a great need for them.  Especially this time of year.
I had so much fun making my first easel card for last week's challenge, I thought it would be fun to make another one!  This time I chose to make a window on the front and this cute image, Deacon Swing, was the perfect image choice for it. I like the way it looks as if he's swinging by to wish someone to get well.  Such a nice guy!

I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.
I used my Label One Nestabilities to make all the framesand my Oval Nesties for the sentiment.
Papers are blue and lime textured and DP from a Cricut mat pack.
I kept the embellishments to a minimum only using buttons and a bow to finish it off.

I think I may be hooked on these so plan on seeing a few more here and there.  Hope y'all had a nice President's Day.  I sure have enjoyed the extra day off.  Tomorrow it's back to business as usual so until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Shannon's Sentiment Purely Sentimental Challenge

Good morning and welcome to this week's Purely Sentimental challenge brought to you by Shannon's Sentiments.  One of the fun things I get to do as  guest designer is host one of the weekly challenges.  I've never hosted a challenge before but it sure was easy to decide what we were going to do this week.  After seeing all her new release sets and seeing all the beautiful sentiments they contain  I thought it would be fun to put the spotlight on the sentiments and keep our cards "purely sentimental".  No images just sentiments and embellishments.  Go crazy with the flowers, brads, ribbon, embossing but no images.
I chose Life Quote from her new Hands Of Time set.  After printing it on white card stock, I framed it using my Label Two nestability.  I then added a border and row of flowers top and bottom of the panel. To finish it off I added  some sponging and another border along the bottom with some ric rac and a crinkled bow.  The paper used:  purple textured, white textured and dp from  my Classic Coordinating Prints and Cardstock mat pack from DCWV.

For more inspiration head on over to Shannon's Sentiments blog and see what an amazing job the team has done this week.

Emergency Hugs

You ever watch the movie UP? Well there's this cute little dog that has a collar on him that allows him to talk and it's pretty cool, but he sometimes gets distracted by shiny things.

Why am I telling you this? Well I am kind of like that little dog when I'm blog surfing. I get distracted by shiny things and can totally lose track of what it was I was doing.

Today was one of those days. I was checking out my blog reader when I came across a shiny new challenge. (New to me) It's Waltzingmouse Stamps CASE challenge.

Now, I barely have time to do the ones I already do and now I'm gonna do another one?!! LOL I just couldn't resist. The challenge was to CASE one of the designers cards so I chose to CASE my blogging friend Bonnie aka The Lucky Clucker. Her card can be found here and here is my case of it.

The fire engine is one of the many images in the Help For Katie set which can be purchased at Jakheath.com and the proceeds from the sell of the set will go to help Katie Renz who is fighting stage four stomach cancer.

I colored the image with copic markers and cut it out with my oval nestabilities, tilted slightly. The changes I made from Bonnie's card are the image, the paper, hearts instead of stars, added sentiment.

If you want to join in on the fun you'll have to hurry. The challenge ends in 13 hours. I know it's late but like I said in the beginning of this post. I just found the challenge a couple of hours ago myself.

Have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by! TTFN

Sweet Dreams Angel

I had full intended to play along on Splitcoaststampers VSN that was going on this weekend. They're always so much fun! As it turned out, I only got the chance to do one of them and that was the luminary challenge. I love 3-D projects and knew exactly what I wanted to make.

I made a rather large luminary cause I wanted to use my oval nestabilities so my image would look like she was sitting at the bottom and wouldn't look too large for the space. I started off with two pieces of card stock measuring 6 x 8 3/4 inches. I scored each piece at 4 inches, 8 inches and that left a 3/4 inch glue tab. I glued only one glue tab at this time. I wanted to add my matted paper to each of the panels and then run them through the cuttlebug before I glued the other one.

I then cut 4 oval frames using my largest and next to largest oval nestabilities (tip: add a piece of tape to each end of the nesties to keep them in the same position for cutting). I then glued them to the outside of the oval. I then attached the vellum to the inside panels and attached the image and banner to the outside.

The image I used for this project is from Bugaboo Stamps Wee Ones set. I colored her with copic markers and prismacolor pencils. The sentiment was created using print shop.

All in all I'm pleased at how this turned out. I just wish I could have done more of the challenges.

That's all I have for now. Time to get ready for the work week. I felt a little better today but I'm kind of groggy from taking Nyquil all weekend. I'm such a light weight when it comes to medication. LOL

Y'all have a great week and thanks for stopping by! TTFN

Sweet Birthday Wishes Bugaboo

Whew! I wasn't sure I was gonna make it. I've come down with some sort of bug and wanted to stay in my nice warm, cozy bed. I felt a little better this afternoon, so I just had to do the final mini challenge on Catch The Bug. It's an anything goes challenge and I chose to do another birthday card just to wish Bugaboo Stamps a very Happy First Birthday.

The first time I saw this adorable image I just knew she was gonna have to be part of digital collection. She's one of the Wee One's Birthday images. Isn't she the cutest?!!!

I colored her with copic markers and prismacolor pencils. She's sitting on top of a cake complete with glittery icing (glossy accents, dazzling diamonds). Lots of layered squares and some fun ribbons and sentiment with buttons to finish it off and I'm calling this card done!

It's time for me to link this up to the Catch The Bug site and I'm gonna crawl back in my nice warm bed and cuddle up with some nyquil. Hopefully this won't last long. There are cards to be made and challenges to be done, you know?!!!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! TTFN

Oh! Before I forget. I want to apologize for the linking issue. I don't know what is happening to make the link go to my whole page. I've tried to fix it but I'm not tech savvy and don't have a clue how to fix it. I've never had this problem before. If anybody has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks again :)

A little bird card set

I love sets, don't you?!! It can be anything and if it's in a set, I'm just automatically drawn to it. You may laugh at me, but a couple of weeks ago I was in Autozone with my husband! As soon as we walked in the door I noticed they had these oil pans filled with oil filters, big containers of oil and funnels all together in a set. I wanted so badly to buy one. My husband laughed and said he thought I was weird but it was just something about the whole package thingy that appealed to me.

What does that have to do with stamping you say? I guess that was my frame of mind today when I sat down to create.

I had made these cute little birdie cards for Jens sketch challenge from last week and this week and thought to myself, I should make a cute little box to hold them. Then I could give them away and afflict someone else with the set obsession.

First, is the card that I made for Jens challenge for last week. I had finished it, taken pictures and edited them, only to find out I had left out an element. Fiddlesticks!!! I couldn't post it like that, so I just set it aside and called it done. Then today it hit me! Just add a strip of ribbon and a word bubble over the word I had already stamped (that would now be under the ribbon) and it fit the challenge.

Second is the box that I made to put the cards in:

I already had a lot of the elements I used for this box, just sitting on my desk from other projects I had started and for some reason, didn't finish. Pretty nice when that happens.

Last and certainly not least, the whole set:

The box holds both cards and their envelopes and I'm thinking the person who ends up with it could use the box to hold cookies or candy or something like that.

The funny thing I found out when I finished this, is that my kids suffer from the same obsession as me. Both of them called dibs on it! I'm thinking I might be able to use this to my favor. Does that make me a bad mom? LOL

All set were made using Whimsical Birds from TPC and Tree Filled With Birds from Pink Cat Studio, Back To Basics DP,Chocolate and Confetti paper.

All images were colored with Copics.

The box finished size is 4 3/4 x 6 inches and has a velcro closure.

Have a great day! TTFN

Pretty Penny

Have you seen all the fun stuff going on over on the Color Throwdown blog? They're celebrating 100 color challenges! Wowee!!!!! They are giving away over $1700.00 dollars worth of amazing prizes! The fun all started yesterday and you can bet I wanted in on it.

I'm new to this challenge, I mean I had heard about it before, but this is the first time I've joined in. Here's how it works: each week there's a new color combo and you make a card or project based on those colors. You don't even have to be exact which is good for me cause I didn't have all of them and had to improvise.

Here is my submission for this weeks color throwdown.

I stamped the flowers first and masked them and stamped the flowers in the background over them. I then colored them using Copics. I love these Penny Black flowers in red, don't you?

I then punched the image out using my oval nestie and sponged around the flowers.

I paired the image with various DP's from Marks Papers Company and MME.

I thought I was finished before I added the squares at the bottom but it just looked like it needed a little something more. I rummaged through my buttons and came up with these cute little ladybug buttons. Just a few snips with my scissors and some glue and they became the icing on the cake, so to speak. I think it was meant to be.

Time for me to get off this crazy contraption and check on the boy child to see if he's okay! He's always been an early riser but has taken to sleeping in this summer. Ahhhhhh! To be a teenager again and sleep as late as you want! Wait!!!! Did I just say I wanted to relive my youth? That's just crazy talk!!! I guess I've forgotten all the other stuff that went along with being a teen. No thank you!!! I'll just keep things as they are!

You all have a terrific day and thanks for stopping by! TTFN

Mojo meets Pink Cat Studio

Oh too funny! I just noticed that today's card matches my new blog layout! I didn't do it on purpose but I guess my mind was stuck on black polka dots when I started making it!

I made this card for this weeks Mojo Monday challenge! I love doing Julee's sketches but don't usually have the time but seeing as how I'm off til the 19th, I found time. Lucky me!!!!
I wanted to go cutesy and fun and what's more fun than an image from Pink Cat Studio and polka dots?
Her name is Lily butterfly and I printed her on white card stock and colored her with my Copics.

I paired her with some more of my Back To Basics mat pack and this birghtly colored flower that I crocheted.
I glittered her wings and glossed them with glossy accents so she would sparkle and shine.
I think we're in for some stormy weather tonight and tomorrow or at least that's what the weather man says! I hope we don't lose power! I have cards to make and time to make them! It's been a while since I've seen my mojo and now that I've found it I don't want to lose it, you know?
Have a great evening! TTFN

It's tea time

Check out this cool new release from The Cutting Cafe! Don't you just love teapots? I know I do and this one is so cute! I couldn't wait to play around with it.

I just printed the image, cut it out using my oval nestie and colored it with my Copics.

I paired it with this yummy paper from Me And My Big Idea.

That little doilie sitting under the tea pot was made with a Scallop Punch and Circle Embossing Folder and Piercer.

I continued the scallop pattern in the border to give it symmetry.

I knew right away that the final touch would be this cute little flower made with my Cricut and George cart. It looked almost identical to the flower on the pot so I had to use it. Whaddya think?

That's all for now! I'm still not finished with my clean up but you can see why! I get distracted easily!

Have a fabulously crafty day! TTFN
