Fun In The Sun

I'm so excited!  I won last weeks challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's so I got to do a little shopping today!  I love her fun images and had a hard time choosing which ones I wanted.  Hmmm. how am I gonna pick?  After thinking it over I decided to pick a couple of images that fit this weeks challenge to make a  SUMMER card!  This is a card I made with one of the super cute and fun images I chose.  She's Callie's Swim Dance and she sure is enjoying her summer!

I colored the image using copic markers and watercolor pencils.  I pulled out some blue designer papers (Recollections) and card stock (Bazzil) and away I went.  The sun was cut using my Cricut & Graphically Speaking Cart,  The sun rays and swirls were cut using my Cuttlebug & Fancy Tag die cut.  I just cut away the parts that I needed and pieced them.  The face on the sun was punched from some designer paper in my scrap pile.  I think it was from CTMH.

Hooray For The Red, White And Blue

I had a little FREE time today, so I thought I would do the current challenge at Sassy Cheryl's challenge blog!  It's a red, white and blue challenge in honor of the upcoming holiday!  What fun I had making this card  using her Avery  May Flowers image!  It's not really a 4th of July type image but by coloring it using the theme colors, I think it fits just fine!

I colored the image using a combo of Copic markers and Prismacolor Pencils. The papers I used are from Recollections and Bazzill Basics.  I used my Cricut and George cart for the die cuts. Add a few buttons, ribbon and some twine and the festivities are ready to start!

Good Morning Sunshine

It's time for this week's New Release at Catch The Bug and  baby what a great new image it is!  She's Bugaboo Stamps Flower Pot Kid and she's ready to bloom!

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using Copic markers.  The card stock is Bazzil Basics Textured.  The designer paper is Recollections Yellow & Gray Plaid and Yellow Pin Dots.  I made the flower accent following the tutorial found here .  I adjusted it a little by adding a punched flower between the layers and  I adjusted the  size of the smaller flower.  The flourishes on the sides are actually two  spellbinders Fancy Tags cut into two pieces.

Time for pastels & bunnies

It's almost time for Easter and I'm so excited that today's challenge at Catch The Bug is all about Easter.  I have very fond childhood memories tied to this time of year!  My mom was a seamstress and she would sew my sisters and I each a new  dress every year.  They all matched but were different colors and we were so cute in them.
Easter 1972 with my cousins.
I'm the tall one in the back, that's my sister Anna to the left of me and my sister Pam on the far right.

I also have  great memories with my own children.  Dying eggs, filling their baskets with loads of goodies and anticipating their excitement when they woke up Easter morning.  Easter programs at church!  We've hunted Easter eggs in the woods and we even hunted eggs in the house one year because all three of the  kiddos had the chickenpox.  Hunter was five months old, poor baby!

The kids hunting eggs in the woods in Washington because Easter coincided with Turkey season!!
My mom has passed on and my kids have all grown too old to hunt eggs, but I still love this time of year and love making cards for the season.  Here's my card for this weeks challenge using Bugaboo Stamps POLKAB-Side Sit.

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using Copic markers and water color pencils.
The die cuts were made using Spellbinders dies (Circle, Oval, Scalloped Circle & Scalloped Oval).  The border and back die cut was made using my Cricut and Elegant Edges cart.  I created the sentiment using Print Shop.  A little sponging (I masked the image before sponging around it), some fun designer papers and a ribbon added the finishing touches.

For more challenge inspired cards, head on over to Catch The Bug and check out what the team did!  Create your own card and link it up to the site and you could win some fun Bugaboo images!

Until next time, have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Bugaboo Turns Two And Another Challenge For You

We're still  celebrating Bugaboo Stamps second birthday so here I am with another challenge for you!  This one's a sketch challenge.

Since I used such a long image for my card, Bird Greetings-Sweet Birthday, I turned the sketch on its side.

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using Copic markers.  I created the sentiment using Print Shop.  The designer paper is Good Day Sunshine from My Mind's Eye.  A couple of punched flowers and border and some bakers twine and button and I was finished with this little cutie!

It's A Sign

Good Friday morning to you!  This week just flew by and I can't believe it's time for this weeks Freebie Friday from Bugaboo Stamps, but it is!!!  This one's gonna have you thinking about what to say!!  He's Sign It-Boy and he comes with his own blank sign that you make your own.  I chose to add a Happy Birthday sentiment to this one but you can add whatever you want!

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using copic markers,  I added the sentiment by opening it in my photo editing program and typing in the words.  Just a few punched presents and some masculine colored card stock and this card was finished!

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Santa Baby

Can you believe there are only 15 more days til Christmas?!!!  The days are just clicking by and I still haven't done all my shopping yet!!  One thing I can cross off my Christmas list is cards!  I have lots and lots of Christmas cards so I chose to do a recipe card for today's challenge at Catch The Bug.  The theme for the challenge is Santa Baby and Bugaboo Stamps has loads of cute Santa images to choose from but I thought Stocking Santa Star would make a great addition to my recipe card.

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using Copic markers.  The DP is from Recolletions Sugar Plum mat pack. I created the tag using Print Shop and Curlz font.  This is a super simple recipe that is always a hit.

Until next time, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  TTFN

Spark-lay, we love spark-lay

This is first post for today.  Be sure to check out The Greeting Farm challenge and Bugaboo's Freebie Friday above.

It's time for this weeks Christmas Stampin All Year Long challenge and I'm so excited!  Not only are we making cards with lots of sparkle, but this weeks sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps!!!  I love me some Bugaboo!!

One of the things I love about Christmas is all the sparkle!  From the shimmery snow to the glowing lights to all the pretty wrapping papers.  So with that in mind, I came up with this Christmas scene side step card using Bugaboo's Ava Christmas Sitter and AKV House.  .

I printed the image on white card stock and colored them using copic markers and then fussy cut them.  I drew in the lights on the house using a sharpie marker. The Christmas tree was made  using  three punched circles measuring  1 7/16, 1 7/8 and 2 5/16.  I'll post a tutorial for this on Sunday.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.

For more great spark-lay creations head on over to Christmas Stampin All Year Long!  You're gonna love what you see.  We're also being joined by some of the design team from Catch The Bug and you're gonna love their sparkly creations too!  Won't you join us too?!!

I Was Working In The Lab Late One Night

When my eyes beheld a eery site!  Eery but sweet!  In fact, unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, this weeks challenge  at Catch The Bug is full of treats!   I guess by now you've figured out that the challenge is all about Halloween,  but that's not all!  There's a twist!!!  .  The twist is we're not making cards.  We're making anything but a card!!!  You should see all the fun and spooky projects the team came up with for the challenge.  You can find them here on the Catch The Bug blog.  Here's my contribution to the challenge.  A coffin candy box featuring the ever so cute Halloween Bobble Head Dracula!!!

This box is 6 inches long, 3 inches at it widest part and 2 inches deep so it will hold a good amount of candy.  I printed the image larger than I usually would so it would cover the coffin (one of the pluses of working with digi images).  He's printed on white card stock and colored with copic markers.

Now it's your turn and we can't wait to see your Halloween themed projects!  We are offering our usual 2,4, 7 image prizes for the winner!  Remember, to be eligible for the 7 images you must use an image from Bugaboo Stamps.  Don't have a Bugaboo image?  No problem, stop by the shop and pick up this weeks Freebie Friday images.  Either one will be perfect for this challenge!!!

It's Purple Time-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

Christmas has gone purple this week!  At least it has at Christmas Stampin All Year Long.  This is not a problem for me since I love the color purple.  And what better images to work with for a purple challenge than a Pink Cat Studio image?!!  They're sponsoring this challenge with five free images to the winner!

Now that you have the deets, how about a some inspiration from myself and the team?!!  Here's my card using the image I created using Pink Cat Studio's new Digi Stamp Designer Program  that launched yesterday!!!  You're gonna love it!!!

I started with the basic Lily body, added the hair, dress, wings, holly on the head band, ornament and bird and got this cute image.  I printed it on white card stock and colored it using a combnation of copic markers and prismacolor pencils.  I paper pieced the dress and added glossy accents on the ornament and fur,  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.

We hope you'll join us!

Baby mine, don't you cry -Bugaboo Stamps New Release

Baby mine, dry your eyes Rest your head close to my heart Never to part, baby of mine.  I just love that lullaby especially when Bette Midler sang it in the movie Beaches but what does that have to do with todays post?!!!

It's all about this weeks New Release from Bugaboo Stamps.  I imagine this sweet little baby drifting off to sleep while listening to that song.  Her name is Pea Pod Boo and she's super sweet!!!

I printed her on white card stock and colored her using copic markers.  Designer paper is from Nana's Nursery It's A Boy pack.  The ruffled borders were made using a doilie.  I just cut it in half, cut away the center and made 1/2 inch cuts every few inches along the cut edge (just like you do in  sewing).  Then just had to glue it to the edges of green card stock.

For more great cards using this image be sure to stop by Catch The Bug and see all the great designs the team came up with!

Have you scene her?!!!

She's really cute but in a spooky kind of way and she likes to make a scene!  Who is she you say??  Well she's  a Brat and she's part of  the New Release at Bugaboo Stamps today.  Jodie, the owner and illustrator  of Bugaboo,  has taken several great Halloween images and put them together in one really nice mix to create this haunting  scene.

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using a combination of copic markers and prismacolor pencils.  The windows and ghost have glossy accents added to them.  I had some really bright lime green card stock so I paired it with some black card stock and Halloween designer paper.

For more great examples using Scene It Halloween Witch, head on over to Catch The Bug and check out  what the team cooked up for you!

Sketch Time-CSAYL

Wow!  It's seems like it's been forever since I've been able to do the challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Long.  Our move really took a toll on my stamping, but I'm back and it's time for this weeks challenge and what a fun one it is!  We're doing a sketch challenge! I love sketch challenges cause half the work is already done.  All that's left is to pick papers and images and get going.  Now,  I tend to follow sketch challenges to a tee, but they can really be interpreted any way you like.  Flip em, substitute alternate shapes.  It's whatever you want to do as long as we can still see the basic sketch.

I have a stash of images that I've already color so the layout was done, image was done all I had to do was pick the paper so I dove into my stash of scraps for this one.

Won't you join us in the fun!  One of our lucky participants will be featured as our guest designer and will get to join us in next weeks challenge.  This week we're featuring Linda and her blog is The Stampers Touch!

Wouldn't you like to be next!  I hope you'll join us!
