Casing myself

Howdy all! I can't believe how fast this week has gone by! I thought I was gonna have a lot of crafting time, but my kids have had a different idea. They have kept me running and worn me out but I am enjoying spending time with them. Spring break will be over before we know it!

After finishing my card the other day I had the thought that it would look really pretty if I did it in red representing the blood that Jesus shed on the cross. I know these seem like unlikely colors but I wanted a lot of contrast. I love the Celtic look to the cross! I made it by cutting a strip of DP 3/4 x 3 inches and another strip 3/4 x 4 inches and punching a border along one side. I then criss crossed them and punched a whole in the center where they crossed and put a brad through the flower and cross.
To kick it up just a tiny notch I added some swirls cut using my Cricut and Storybook cart and some Gems. I also added some texture by running the red panel through my Cuttlebug and Stylized Flowers folder. The sentiment is from Michaels dollar stamps.
I'm off to do some more creating! The kids are doing sleepovers tonight and hubby is sleeping so I think I'll pull a late nighter. It's been a while since I've done that. Should be fun!
Have a great day! TTFN
Hugs. Becky

This is really out of the box and I love it, especially the color choice you made and the reasons why. I really enjoy Christmas but Easter is the one holiday that brings me to my knees.
