Getting back into the challenges

I have been suffering from what some stampers might call "CRB"! Creative Road Block is it's better known name. Of course, I have self diagnosed but I have all the symptoms. I sit at my stamp desk and just stare at my stamps. I pick up a stamp, ink it and put it to paper, only to sit and stare blankly, not remembering what I should do next (slight exxageration). I know what to do next, I'm just kind of *blah* about the whole process. I find my mind wandering and then my feet want to do the same. Before I know it, I find myself planted in front of the TV screen, remote in hand, channel surfing. Doesn't that sound like someone with CRB to you?

Not to worry! It isn't fatal and there is a cure for it! There are wonderful support groups out there in the form of blogs and stampers challenges. Thank goodness! There is hope for all of us! This is my testimonial that they do actually work. Why, just this morning, I wandered over to SCS to see if I could find some kind of inspiration and intervention and there it was. The Technique Lover's Challenge! The lovely Lynn Mercurio hosted a difficult but awe inspiring challenge for us. Stained glass! After checking the list of requirements and supplies, I vowed to give it my all! I wasn't gonna let this thing beat me. I went back to my roots, the reason I started stamping in the first place, Christmas cards. I opened my stash of Christmas papers, chose my stamps and was amazed with how quickly I fell back into the old groove. It felt wonderful to be creative again.

Recipe-Stamps: Snowman? This one has no name just a number. (Inkadinkado), Sincere Salutations. Paper: Blue, White, Acetate, Various DP's. Inks: Black Stazon. Accessories: Colluzle, Cuttlebug and folders, Piercing tool, Reinkers, Crystal Effects, Square punch, Button.

So, what do you think? Am I on the road to recovery?

On a personal note: I have to go back to work after being home for the last three years. I have a job interview on Thursday. Cross your fingers I get the job!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by. TTFN

Wow! If this is what you create in a creative slump, maybe I should have one of my own...this is great!

Hi Becky!! What a wonderful job you did on the challenge!! I can't believe I see so many Hallowe'en cards and Christmas cards - I feel like I am so far behind!! This is only August, right??!! LOL! I can sympathize with your CRB. I had "DRC" awhile ago, which is Don't Really Care and then I had "MAG" - Mojo ALL Gone but I think I have now caught "CAN" Coming Around Now!!! which is the best one!! Get OFF that COUCH!!
