My very first tutorial

Here it is as promised. I hope that it makes sense.
Start by stamping image on glossy card stock with pigment ink or Versamark and heat embossing with Embossing Powder. Here I used Black Pigment Ink and Clear EP.
Next, mask your piece of card stock from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. Sponge on your lightest color first. Here I used Creamy Caramel.
Reposition mask going from the top right to the bottom left. Sponge on your next lightest color covering the entire exposed area. Here I used So Saffron.
Last, reposition your mask again going from the bottom right to the top left. Stamp with your darkest color over the entire exposed area. Here I use Caribbean Crisp (retired).
Mat your stamped image and stamp the base of your card and add any embellishments at this point. Here I stamped the card base with Basic Black using French Script and my new Penny Black stamp and added a black mat and ribbon.
Here is the final product.

Great technique - what is it called??

It is called "Jordan Almond". It is actually a house painting technique that I thought would look nice on a card!
