Thinking Regal

Today's color challenge was just perfect for me. My mom commissioned me to make a card for her sister, who just recently lost her husband of 63 years. She lives by herself and has been getting lonely and my mom wanted to perk up her spirits. I wanted to make something soft and sweet and the colors today are Regal Rose, Pretty In Pink and Old Olive. Perfect! I immediately went for Watercolor Garden. Who doesn't love flowers? I did an awful lot of masking on this one (I wanted the flowers to look layered). I then went back with my watercolor brush and some Old Olive to give it a little more depth. This is the first time that I have tried this, and I think I could have done a better job if I had wet the paper a little. I don't like the brush strokes but I guess it gives it character. After completing the water coloring I then stamped Linen in Pretty In Pink over the image to make it look like a canvas painting. I did this to the tag also to give it a consistent look. I cut a prima flower in half and attached it to the tag along with some ribbon just to give it that extra touch. All images are on dimentionals. This card is 8.5 x 5.5.
Stamps: Watercolor Garden, Sincere Salutations, Linen
Paper: Regal Rose, White
Inks: Pretty In Pink, Regal Rose, Old Olive
Accessories: Ribbon, Prima, Dimentionals, Water color brush, Marker
