Warm Winter Wishes

It's HOT HOT HOT here in Texas and I'm so ready for cooler weather.  Don't get me wrong!  I don't want it to be super cold, just wish it was a nice cool seventy degrees.  Since I can't have that, I thought I would just create a card for Bugaboo Stamps Oldie But Goodie using a wintery theme to take my mind off the heat.  I just love this Winter Bird Skate image and had to use it for my card!  It makes me smile!!!

The image is printed on Fabriano water color paper and I colored it using reinkers and my Aqua Painter.  To go along with the winter theme, I blew the dust off one of my favorite Stampin Up sets (Snowflakes).  I created the pearly swirly background by embossing it using the swirls embossing folder.  I then applied white pigment ink by dragging it across the paper and added clear embossing powder.  While the EP was still hot, I poured on some white pearl ex powder and then heat set it.  I repeated this around the image on the main panel.  For the border I used a Martha Stewart flower border but added a snowflake to give it the wintery look.  A little stitching with some silver thread to finish it off and I called it done.
