Jen's Sketch For You To Try

Have you had the chance to check out Jen's layout for this weeks SFYTT? Very cool layout, I must say! Hee hee, that sounded just like Ed Grimly (the character on SNL played by Martin Short). Okay, okay, back to my thoughts. I finally got the chance to play around in my stamp room last night and finished my very first set of ATC's for a swap with my SBS2 sisters,(can't show you those, don't want to spoil the surprise for the ladies)and this card made using Jen's sketch. I guess you can say I was in kind of a pink mood cause this baby is all pink with the exception of the big flower, which I made using my crocheting skills. (I wonder if I could list that on a job ap under special skills? *grin*, probably not unless it was a craft store and we all know where my paycheck would go, hee hee) Anywho, back to the card. Here it is for your viewing pleasure.

Recipe-Stamps:Happy Harmony,Flowers (Studio G). Paper: Rose Red, Pretty In Pink, White (GP), DP from my scrap drawer. Inks: Rose Red, Black Stazon, Markers. Accessories: Lattice Corner Punch, Cricut & George Cartridge, Cuttlebug and Floral EF, Piercing tool, Primas, Brads, Ribbon, Stickles.

For some reason, the camera didn't like the pink. I tried and tried to get a better picture with truer color quality, but this was as good as it got. The pretty in pink looks like blush here but rest assured it is pretty in pink.

I ran the Rose Red card stock through the cuttlebug and Floral folder and then rubbed my white pigment pad over the raised parts to make them stand out. The oval and brackets were made using my Cricut and George cartridge. This layout would look spectacular turned on it's side and I think I'm gonna try that later on tonight after the kids and hubby are in bed.

Speaking of the kids, they are back in school tomorrow. Whoo hoo! I'm gonna do some major house cleaning in the morning. You know, the stuff you put off all summer cause it's just too hard to maneuver around the lumpy bodies sprawled all over the place. I know it doesn't sound like fun, but it just needs to be done and I'm just the person for the job.

Oh and while we're on that subject, I got a call from the school saying they were recommending me for the bus assistant position, I just have to wait for HR to call. That was Tuesday and I still haven't heard from them. I guess they really took me serious when I said I was a patient person. LOL! The interview Thursday went well and they wanted to hire me but it was only 15 hours a week and I need more than that so I took a pass on that one. I'll keep y'all posted. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. I can use all the help I can get.

That's all I have for today. So glad you stopped by and have a wonderful day! TTFN

Stamping tip: To get the embossed edge on the oval, I layered a smaller oval under a larger oval and put it on my light table and used the pointed end of my bone folder to get that nice line.
