Time for another sketch

Does everybody know what time it is? No, not tool time. It's time for another sketch for Sketches . You should see the designs the team has come up with for this sketch. They are awesome! I really had fun with this week's sketch. I love it when I am challenged to step out of my comfort zone. This week's sketch called for a long card. I never think to do these, but really like the look of them and the fact that they fit in a regular size envelope.
I decided to use my cute little turtle stamp from Inkadinkado that I picked up about a month or so ago and hadn't yet seen ink. I chose to do just the image without the sentiment and couldn't resist coloring this cute little guy with non-traditional colors. The inspiration for my color choice came from the Primas that I used. Isn't he just the cutest?

Stamps: Humorous Birthday (Inkadinkado). Paper: Tempting Turquoise, White. Inks: Black Stazon. Accessories: Cuttlebug, Frame EF, Swiss Dots, EF , Primas, Brads, Ribbon, Corner Punch, SU Markers.

The Turtle image was stamped three times (first time on the white square, second cut out just the shell and head, third just cut out the head) then colored each and layered with dimentionals. This really looks much better IRL but for some reason when I went to tweak the image , the turquoise changed colors. I think maybe the ribbon was throwing it off. It was too dark not to change it, so I just went with it. Anybody have any tips for dealing with this kind of thing, they would be greatly welcomed.

We would love for you to join us and do the sketch and if you do you could be chosen for next weeks guest designer and be featured. All you have to do is link your card back to the Sketches site.

Hope your having a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by! TTFN

Tip:I've found that when I want to ink up only a portion of an acrylic stamp, that coloring it with my markers leaves a blotchy image. What I do is I cover the portion of the stamp that I don't want inked with a sticky note and then ink the rest with my ink pad. The result is a a nice clean image with only the portion I want stamped.

That is so so cute! Love that snail stamp. So clever how you stamped it 3 times and popped part of it up.
