I'm featured on Taylor's blog

Are you ready for my exciting news? Each week on Friday, the wonderfully awesome Taylor Van Bruggen posts a cupcake challenge on her blog, Taylored Expressions. If you create a card and post a link to it, you have the chance to be picked for her featured stamper for the next week's sketch. What a fun challenge, I mean, who doesn't love cupcakes? So I've been doing the challenges and can you guess what? Last week she picked my Changito cupcake card as her favorite! (Whoo hoo, happy dance!)

I was so excited when I got her email telling me she had picked my card and asking me if I would like to be featured. Of course, I said yes! Actually it went a little more like, "Oh my goodness, are you kidding me? YES!!!!!! I just love her designs and have been a fan of them from the minute I first saw them.

So without further ado, I give you my take on cupcake challenge #19.

I went a little shabby chic on y'all with this one. I hope you like it!

Recipe
Stamps: Mouse and present (Penny Black acrylic) Cupcake and Sentiment (Inkadinkado). Paper: Soft Blue Textured, White, Chocolate, DP (the paper studio). Inks: Black Stazon, Chocolate Chip, Basic Brown. Accessories: Fiskars border punch, Giga Scallop Punch, Cuttlebug & Birthday EF, Cricut & George Cartridge, Markers, Aqua Painter, Sewing Machine, Dimentionals, sponge dauber.

I stamped the cupcake on white card stock and then masked it off and stamped the mouse & present image next to it so it looks like the mouse is sniffing the yummy cupcake.

The DP was embossed using the cuttlebug and birthday folder and then was lightly sanded to make the wording more pronounced.

I colored the image using my Stampin Up markers and aqua painter for blending.

The stitching around the circle and the sentiment piece is faux. The stitching around the DP is real.

That's pretty much it. Pretty cute, huh?

That's all I have for today. I have a lot, and I mean a lot, of house cleaning to do. We've had two nights back to back of sleepovers and Tuesday is the big graduation day and we are having family coming in for the weekend. So probably no stamping time for me. :(

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by! TTFN

YOu go girl! That's awesome! I Love your card. The cupcake image is ultra adorable...that mouse! But I hafta say that what I'm most stoked about is that you helped me figure out how the heck to use that cuttlebug folder. I received it as a gift & felt bad 'cause I couldn't get inspired to use it. What you've done with it is gorgeous! :0)
