A couple of challenge cards

Hello everyone! I know, your thinking, hello stranger back at me. I really don't have a good excuse for being a bad blogger, it's just that with the kids home from school, I just can't get my mojo going. KWIM?

To get my creative juices flowing, today I bought a copy of Paper Crafts magazine and immersed myself in it's pages until I felt I had absorbed enough creative juju and then turned myself loose. Get out of my way kids! Moms gotta stamp and if you get in her way, well.....it just wouldn't be pretty! Thank goodness they were absorbed in their own world of television and nintendo. They hardly even noticed I had dissapeared into my creative cave! I had just enough "mom" time to do Jen's Sketch For You To Try and Beate's Weekend Sketch! (Love doing their sketches) I kind of cheated by using the same stamps, papers and tools. I love how you can do that and get an entirely different look just by changing the layout. So here are my cards. This first one was made using Jen's sketch.

I made this flower yesterday while playing around with my punches. I started by punching out a scallop circle and stamping polka dots all over it. I then cut slits at each scallop. Next I used my flower punch and acetate for the next layer. I also stamped polka dots all over it using black stazon. Add a Prima and Brad and there you have the beginning of this card. The rest was easy. Just add DP's that went with the theme. The image is a stamp that I picked up a while back at the Dollar Store. I reverse masked the flowers to stamp the dots on them. The frame was made by sponging circles with my sponge dauber and then stamping over it with dots. Pretty cute, huh?
This next one was made using Beate's sketch. The only difference on this one is that I used white card stock as a border around the DP layers.

Here is a picture of the two of them together.

Recipe
Stamps: Flowers ($ store). Papers: Taken With Teal, Various DP (?, they were from my scrap drawer), White, Acetate. Inks: Teal, Black Stazon. Accessories: Punches, Cuttlebug & Swiss Dot Folder, Brads, Ribbon.

On a personal note, if your looking for a summer movie for the family to see, check out "Kung Fu Panda". We took DH to see it today for Father's Day and we all loved it. I can't understand why the critics only gave it two stars. Jack Black did a great job and was his usual funny self!

That's all I have for today. I'll be back later!

Have a great day and thenks for stopping by! TTFN

Great takes on the sketches. Love both cards. The colors are fun. I agree that it is neat how you can use the same papers and have 2 totally different crads. Love your work.
