Lovely texture

Good morning my blogging friends! I hope you are all having a good morning! I have a yummy Valentine to share with you today. Last night I was cutting out about a thousand hearts for my DS's class party. Each grade at his school donates their Valentine craft project to a nursing home every year. This year they are doing the centerpieces and I volunteered to cut out the hearts for their flowers because I have the cricut. Well I'm all finished, but while I was staring at all those hearts, this card popped into my head.

Isn't it purtiful? I used Mel's tips on coloring the red flowers on acetate. (Thank you Mel with your awesomeness, and your wonderful talent and tutorials). The background paper is what I am most thrilled about. Can you believe that it started out as a piece of white CS? I ran it through the cuttlebug and then, using my brayer, layered on some black pigment ink and the heat embossed it with black ep. Then I sponged in every nook and cranny with red pigment ink and then embossed the whole thing with clear ep. The result is a very deep, shiny red accented against the black! I finished it off with some flocked DP scraps that I had, and some black tulle and red ribbon and some clear gems! This is the Valentine that I am giving my hubby! I think he'll like it.
I better sign off and get some things done around here that need to be done.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
