Argh!!!!......Life can be so frustrating........

I am going out of my mind here! Just when I think life has settled down, things start going crazy again. If you have been blogging with me for a while, you know all about my mom and what we have been dealing with with her cancer. Well, last week we went to see her Oncologist to get her Bone Marrow Biopsy results. We got one of those first the good news kind of things. The good news is her Myeloma is under control. Sigh of relief! Now the bad news. She now has Myelodysplastic syndrome. Completely treatable! Another sigh of relief!
Here is where is gets frustrating. Friday we get a call from the skilled nursing facility she is in, telling us that the insurance has given a three day notice. THREE DAY NOTICE! (Are they kidding me?) They will no longer be paying for my moms care and we either need to pay $5,000.00 a month for her to stay where she is or she needs to come home or go to another facility. First off, I don't have that kind of money (does anyone?) and if I could care for her at home, that's where she would be. So now my dad and I are running around trying to find a place for her that will take Medicaid pending and still allow her to get treatment for her cancer (not an easy task I tell you). We have an appointment to meet with a social worker in the morning. I am praying that all will go well. Please keep us in your prayers and thanks for letting me vent!

I'll keep you and your family in my prayers. My mom, who has several chronic health issues, has been in an assisted living facility for about eight years now...my sisters and I have spent a lot of time and energy fighting with insurance carriers and the government to get her decent care. What we've learned over the years is when they say no, ask again and again and again until they do the right thing.

Sending you a virtual hug...

OMG you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I cannot even imagine how stressful this is for you and your family, plus dealing with the health aspect of it has to be so hard for everyone. Your family will be in my prayers. I will pray for your mom's health and pray for your situation and that everything works out for her. ((((HUGS)))) -Samantha

I am so happy about your good news! I understand the stress of finding a place this time of year. My DH and his sisters scrambled last week to find a place for his mother who has alzheimer’s. They have been preparing, but it happened far too quickly to her :( Prayers will be going up for you and yours!

Hey Becky! Wanted to stop by and give you a great big virtual hug! I dealt with cancer and a parent myself and know how difficult it can be. I will keep you very close in my thoughts. Hang in there! There is light at the end of the tunnel. Things have a funny way of working themselves out...just hang tight! Big warm hug!
