Christmas in July

I know, I know, it's not July you say! Well, if you check out the contest posted on CPS (that's card positioning systems not child protective services) it will all make sense. The deadline for submissions is October 6, 2007. So head on over there and check it out!

I have been wanting to submit a card for the Christmas In July challenge and finally got some stamping time tonight and this is what I came up with.

The image is from Inky Antics and colored with Prisma Color Pencils and Gamsol. I used Liquid Applique for the fur and beard. I used Stickles (Ranger Inks) for the candy canes, stars and his eyes.
Santa is popped up with dimentionals. The paper is Wild Wasabi and Barely Banana sponged with So Saffron. The DP is from Daisy D. Wild Wasabi ribbon is from Stampin Up. I printed the sentiment using Print Shop on my computer and then crumpling the paper and sponging it. I distressed almost all of the edges and used my sewing machine to stitch around the edges and no, I wasn't drunk. I intentionally ran my lines here and there just to see what it would look like. I really like the way it looks. It's late now and I am going to bed now so that I can dream of the next project.

Happy stamping to all of you!
