It's Challenge Time At Catch The Bug

And it's a recipe challenge!  All you need to make your card or project is Kraft Paper, Embossing, and a Pop of color!  What could be simpler than that?

Here is my card featuring this little cutie.  She's Bugaboo Stamps Kidz Girl-Just Like Mom.  I colored her using Copic markers and then fussy cut the image.

Friends Are Like Cookies

And there's nothing like a cute little Cookie Kidz on a card to let your friends know that.  That's the name of the new set being released today at Bugaboo Stamps and is it ever fun?!!!  Here is a card I made using just one of the images from the set!

I colored the image using Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.  For the die cuts I used my circles and oval spellbinders.  The designer paper is from my scrap pile but I think it's from the paper studio.  All the edges are sponged with brown and I added a little faux stitching to finish it off.

Friendship, friendship, it's the perfect blendship

Good morning!  It's challenge time again at Catch The Bug so get out those Bugaboo Stamped images or whatever image you want and join us!  It's Anything Goes so whatever you want to do is alright by us, we just want you to join in on the fun.  The best part is the prizes.  You could win some Bugaboo Stamps!!!!   Two for third, four for second and seven for first (you must use a Bugaboo image to eligible for first).

Let me get you started off with my card using the "oh so cute"  Turtle-Ladybug.

I printed the image on watercolor paper and colored it using watercolor pencils.  I used my Nana's Nursery background paper to inspire the color of the ladybug.  The sentiment was created using Print Shop and Curlz font.

Oldie But Goodie-Catch The Bug

I know this blog post is late, but I have a really good reason.  You see, earlier this week, I slipped on some slick stuff at work and fell right down on my knee!  I really jacked it up good!  I learned two lessons this week.  One, watch wear I'm walking and two, schedule my blog posts ahead of time.

I made my card last weekend and if I had typed up my post and scheduled it like I had planned, my knee incident wouldn't have been and issue.  But I didn't and so this post is late but I still wanted to share it with you all cause it's just so darn cute!  So here it is:

Ava Baseball, Deacon Baseball, Wood Bench

I merged the three png images into one using Photo Pad image editor (downloaded for free), then I colored them using copic markers.  With such a cute image to work with this card didn't need much else.  Just some sponging and a banner, a few scallops and the sentiment and it was done.

Soft and Bright-Catch The Bug

Soft and bright!  Now those are two words you don't usually here together when describing a card challenge but that's what we're doing  this week at Catch The Bug.  The soft in that challenge being FLOWER SOFT!!!! They are our fabulous sponsors  this week. 

I have to admit, I had never worked with Flower Soft before todays challenge but I've enjoyed seeing what other stampers have done with it and had it on my list of techniques to try.  I'm soooo glad I finally had the chance.  I'm hooked for sure!!!!  I just love the texture and dimension it adds to the image.  Check it out!!

See how it took Itchy Dogs sweater and ears to a whole other level?!!

I colored him first and then added the flower soft  (Poppy red and Nut Brown) over the colored areas using some scotch quick dry adhesive and allow drying time.  Super easy, lemon squeezy!!!

Forever Friends-Oldie But Goodie at Catch The Bug

It's time for this weeks Oldie But Goodie card for Catch The Bug.

As I said in a post earlier this week, we are getting ready to make a move this summer and  I'm in the process of making cards to give to friends or for my kids to give to their friends. 

This Oldie Bug Goodie is the perfect image for that very purpose.  This little guy and his furry friend are part of the Brats collection from Bugaboo Stamps.

I colored him using a combination of Copics and Prismacolor Pencils and a little bit of watercoloring on the puppy.  The designer paper is from American Crafts Celebration pack.  I used my word window punch for the side treatment. trimming away the excess pieces from the sides.
