Wow! It's been forever since I have been able to do the inspiration challenge on SCS. I love this challenge because it taught me to draw inspiration from the things I see every day all around me. It's kind of funny. I am always classifying colors I see in magazines and pictures by their SU names. I'll see a flower and my mind has already told me that it is Purely Pomegranate or I'll see a piece of art and think hmmmm, is that more of a Saffron or Banana. It really is a great help when it comes to designing. It takes a lot of the guess work out of it.
Here is the piece that inspired this card. I used my flowers from Ronna Farrers Second Nature and colored in the flowers using markers in More Mustard and Old Olive. I water colored some of the flowers using Cool Caribbean and Purely Pomegranate (no markers for those colors). I used my Cuttlebug and texture plate from Fiskars to make the quilted design. I used my small square punch to make the zig zag cuts on along the sides. I added the sentiment because I thought it neede it. What do you think? How did I do?
Stamps: Second Nature, Fall Whimsy, Sentiment $1 stamp from Michael's. Paper: White, Cool Caribbean. Inks: Purely Pomegranate, Cool Caribbean, More Mustard, Old Olive. Accessories: Square punch, Cuttlebug, Tag Die, Texture Plate, Ribbon
Hope your having a great weekend! Happy Stamping!
