Monday's tapestry challenge

What a great challenge to start the week off. It's called tapestry, and the results you can get from this challenge are so pretty and diverse. You start out with a light colored pigment ink and sponge it on white cardstock. You then add another two colors going from lightest to darkest. Then you ink up a stamp with white pigment ink and stamp randomly over what you just sponged. Sprinke on clear EP and then heat with heat tool! Sounds like fun, right? It is!!!

I only have a few pigment inks, so I had to work with what I had on hand. I sponged black and red pigment inks, making sure to smear them to cover any white spots. I then stamped the word stamp from Natural Beauty onto the sponged surface using white pigment ink. Time to pour on the clear ep. I heated it and then stamped the whole surface with versamark, covered with clear ep and heated again. I stopped there cause I liked the rough surface. If I wanted it to be smooth I would have repeated that last process a few more times. The main image is embossed and then colored in using my markers. I did watercolor in gray around the outside of the image first because I didn't want to get any color bleeding from the image. I ended up with some smearing anyway. (Note to self, make sure image is dry before handling)

I used my Fiskars Border Punch on white cs to make the border. The border of the main image is also made with a Fiskars Corner Punch. I decided that it needed some piercing and some brads. The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations. There you have it! It's very bold!
