I've been busy making Valentine's card and I picked up this really cute Tiddly Inks image a couple of weeks ago. She's so adorable and I love the hearts falling like rain. I finally got the chance to color her and here she is. This card is for the current Valentine challenge at Tiddly Inks

She's Catch My Heart and I colored her using Copic markers. I created the sentiment using Word. The Designer papers are Doodle Hearts Red from the paper studio and With Love Sweetheart from Pebbles.

Diva With The Angel Face

She's Download Diva from Kenny K and she's the sweet and sassy image I had the privilege of working with for this weeks challenge at Catch The Bug. It's a Photo Inspiration Challenge and the fabulous Kenny K Designs is sponsoring us!

I drew my inspiration from the colors of the flowers and the hearts!

I colored her using Copic markers and Prismacolor Pencils and then cut her out and placed her in the center of a layered frame I had cut using my Cricut and Elegant Edges cart. A little sponging and twine and some jewels and I was done.

Nothing's cuter than a kid wearing a hat

That is, unless it's a free image of a kid wearing a hat from Bugaboo Stamps! This week's Freebie Friday image is just that! A cute kid wearing a hat with a cute cat to boot! She's Kidz Girl Cat and you are gonna want to grab this one while you can!

I colored her using a combination of Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils. The paper are from DCWV's Cherry Limeade. I used a combination of Spellbinders die cuts (circles, lacey circles and Label One) I also used my Cricut and Elegant Edges cart. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.

Friends Are Like Cookies

And there's nothing like a cute little Cookie Kidz on a card to let your friends know that. That's the name of the new set being released today at Bugaboo Stamps and is it ever fun?!!! Here is a card I made using just one of the images from the set!

I colored the image using Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils. For the die cuts I used my circles and oval spellbinders. The designer paper is from my scrap pile but I think it's from the paper studio. All the edges are sponged with brown and I added a little faux stitching to finish it off.

It's a "Banner" of a day.

It's also time for another ABC (anything but a card) at Catch The Bug.

I've created a fun Valentine Banner using this adorable Ava & Deacon images from Bugaboo Stamps. It's Ava & Deacon Heart.

Here's a closer look at the L and E:

I printed the images on white card stock and colored them using Copic markers. I cut them out and used only Ava and Deacon and not the heart they were sitting on. I wanted them to appear to be sitting on the circles. The hearts were all created using my Cricut and George cart. The letters were also created using the same cart. For the circles I pulled out my lacey circles and circles spellbinders dies and my cuttlebug. The papers I used are doodle hearts in varying colors from the paper studio.

Sunny Birthday Card

It's late and I was in a creative mood and wanted to play around with some Tiddly Inks images I had purchased a few weeks back. They have weekly challenges and I wanted to play along. Here's a card I made for their current challenge going on at Tiddly Inks Challenges. It's a color challenge and I used their Happy Birthday Girl image to make a fun and sunny birthday card.

I colored the image using Copic markers. The background was created using scraps. The sentiment was created using Print Shop.

Stella Says Sketch 103

I'm here with our Stella Says Sketch challenge at Catch The Bug. Stella Says Sketch or SSS is relatively new. They started at the beginning of January and they are every other Sunday.
The rules are simple: Create a Project that is Inspired by the below photo and post a link to it on Bugaboo Stamps' challenge blog, Catch the Bug, by 2/11/12 at 6:00 AM EST to be entered a random drawing for three digi prize packs - seven (7) (using a Bugaboo image only), four (4), or two (2) using any image! And this is what I did with it using Bugaboo Stamps Ava & Deacon Love Word.

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using Copic markers. The Designer papers are Red & White Doodle Hearts and Black & White Doodle Hearts from the paper studio. The border was made using my Cricut and Elegant Edges cart & the hearts were cut using my George cart. I also used my Label One Spellbinder die. A little doodling, ribbon and some Glossy Accents on the hearts and I was done.

It's time for a doggie treat!

And Bugaboo Stamps has the perfect image for it! It's this weeks Freebie Friday image and it's dog gone cute! His or her name is Scruffy Puppy! (In this instance let's just say he's a boy). I used him to make a treat bag, perfect to give someone with a new puppy! Here, take a look!

I printed him on white card stock and used my water color pencils and aqua painter to color him. The sentiment was printed using Print Shop. The Designer paper is Cherry Limeade from DCWV.

You Light Up My Life

Good morning my blogging, card making friends! It's Thursday and that means it's time for an Oldie But Goodie from Bugaboo Stamps.

I just couldn't resist the cuteness of this little fireman. He's AKVtoo's Fireman-Fire Truck and he's here to save the day when you light those candles on that birthday cake this year!

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using Copic markers. The glass portion of the firetruck looks shiny with the help of glossy accents. I colored and cut just the body of the fire truck on another image and popped it up using dimentionals. The sentiment was created using Print Shop and highlighted with Copic markers. The inside sentiment says "Don't worry! We've got you covered".

Gettin Sketchy at Catch The Bug

Good morning! It's back to business as usual at Catch The Bug! We've had a fun week celebrating with mini challenges but now it's time to get back to our normal schedule and that means it's time for this weeks regularly scheduled challenge. Last Day Of The Birthday Celebration

Wow! This week really went by quick! This is our last challenge for the celebration week! It's also Freebie Friday so head on over to Bugaboo Stamps and pick up your free image (guinea pig birthday) and then join us in the challenge.

The challenge is to use three designer papers on your project!

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using prismacolor pencils and gamsol. The designer papers are from my scrap stash. The sentiment is from Stampin Up's Think Happy Thoughts (retired). The die cuts I used are circle and lacey circle nestabilities. A little glitter on the balloon, some ribbon and bakers twine were added to finish it off!

Bugaboo Turns Two And Another Challenge For You

Since I used such a long image for my card, Bird Greetings-Sweet Birthday, I turned the sketch on its side.

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using Copic markers. I created the sentiment using Print Shop. The designer paper is Good Day Sunshine from My Mind's Eye. A couple of punched flowers and border and some bakers twine and button and I was finished with this little cutie!

Day Five Challenge

We're still celebrating Bugaboo Stamps second birthday over at Catch The Bug and we have another challenge for you. Today we want you to break out those primary colors and get ready to bring the bling.

I love working with both primary colors and bling, so this one was right up my alley!

I took inspiration for my color choice from the flower in the image I used. He's Fat Mice Flower and is he ever cute?!!

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using a combination of water color pencils and copic markers. I cut the image out using a circle nestabilities and then colored and cut out just the flower of another printed image and glued that to the flower stem. The designer paper I used is Crinkled Red & Black And White Checkered from the paper studio. The sentiment was created using Print Shop. Add a punched border and Lacey Circles and Fancy Tags die cuts and this card was almost finished. The only thing left to do was bling it up. I added some glittered hearts on the tag, a glittered flower on the bow and glittered the heart on his bottom and I was finished.

Day Four-New Release Day

Can you believe we are already on day four of the mini challenges at Catch The Bug? If this is the first you've heard about them, you can find the details on the Catch The Bug blog. If this isn't the first you've heard of it I hope you've been playing along with us and are in the running for some of those cool prizes!!!

Let's get to today's challenge. Most everybody loves bows, right?! They add a nice touch to cards and tags, and pretty much any project so that's the challenge. Your project must have a bow on it.

Since it's Tuesday, it's also New Release day at Bugaboo Stamps. They are Bride & Groom, and they're all ready to tie the knot! While most people would think of them as wedding images only, the team had to think outside the box on this one and use them to create a birthday card. While watching one of the commercials for The Bachelor I came up with an idea and ran with it, so get ready folks cause here comes the groom:

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using copic markers and my white prismacolor pencil for highlighting. The designer paper I used is Doodle Love from the paper studio.He looks so elegant in his tux, I had to include a lot of elegant details like the glitter background cut with my Fancy Tags nestabilies and the punched borders and glittered ribbon. I created the sentiment using Print Shop and then punched it out using an oval nestabilities. Just a little doodling and I was done.

Day Three, Doing An ABC

Morning all! Are you ready for today's Bugaboo Birthday challenge?!! Since we're celebrating turning two, your projects today should have two of something. Two of anything, you decide, be it papers, embellishments, images, whatever. You decide! Sound like fun?!!

It's my turn at Catch The Bug to make an ABC (anything but a card) project so I made a chocolaty floral arrangement with a gift tag attached using Bugaboo Stamps Heart Fairy. I used two different colored wrappers on the chocolates, two ribbon colors and two designer papers although that one may be harder to spot. Her dress is paper pieced.

To create the tag I printed the image on white card stock and designer paper. I colored the image using Copic markers and then fussy cut just the dress from the DP and added it to the colored image. I added sentiment to the heart using my photo editing software. The tag was cut using my Cricut and George cart. A little glitter around the heart and the tag was done.

The chocolate arrangement was made by inserting floral wire (16 GA) into Dove chocolates and attaching three leaf shaped pieces of tissue paper to each stem with floral tape, just below the chocolate. To add a little filler to it I twirled just the tops of a white pipe cleaner around a pencil. The heart ribbons were made by twisting a pipe cleaner around a bow and pulling it up into the shape of a heart. You can't see it in the picture but I filled the vase with sparkly pom poms to give the stems some stability and make it pretty at the same time.

Day Two Of Our Bugaboo Celebration

Hoo Loves Owls

I do, I do, so you can imagine my excitement when I found some really cute owl clip art while browsing on Pinterest. It led me to Cherry Clip Art on Etsy and I just had to have them. Here's a quick card I made tonight while playing around with some of the images.

I also spent a few minutes and a few dollars at my LSS The Scrappers Boutique and picked up some fun new papers to go with the images. I used Pebbles With Love xoxo & Sweetheart and some Jilli Bean Soup Hearty Barley Fressh Mushroom! I topped it off with a little bakers twine! I'll definitely be making a stop back in there again soon! My pocket book was lucky I only had a few minutes to look around. LOL

It's The Simple Things

In life that make you smile and this weeks New Release at Bugaboo Stamps will have you grinning from ear to ear! They're Simple Sticks and are they ever cute! Let me take you back to your childhood with a Valentine gift bag and the oh so adorable Simple Stick Girl.

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using copic markers. I used one of the cylinder shape in the George cart, stretched it to 9 x 6, added the heart shape (turning it) and cut it out. I then cut the cylinder in the center so I had a back and front. To make it into a bag all I had to do was take a strip of card stock 11 x 3 inches and score in 1/2 inch on each side to create glue tabs and also score it at 3 1/2 inches from each end. The top strips are 3 1/2 x 1 1/4 inches. Other items I used were ribbon, yarn, a Martha Stewart border punch and a white gel pen.

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using copic markers, I added the sentiment by opening it in my photo editing program and typing in the words. Just a few punched presents and some masculine colored card stock and this card was finished!

It's Oldie But Goodie day at Catch The Bug! The day when we showcase images that you may or may not have seen before. I love any and all of the Ava images from Bugaboo Stamps, so this was an easy decision! What's cuter than Ava as a mermaid?!!! Not much and just to give her a little whimsy, I colored her hair blue!

I printed the image on water color paper and colored it using my Stampin Up watercolor pencils. To punch it up a little more, I added glitter to her flower, bikini top, flipper and the fish! This card is so cute and sparkly! All it needed was a few punched flowers and some fun dotted DP and I was done. Super easy!

Good morning! It's been so long since I posted to my blog I bet you thought I fell off the face of the earth. It's time to get back in the swing of things and what better way is there than this weeks New Release from Bugaboo Stamps. It's time to get cranking on those Valentines cards and With Love is the perfect image for it!

I got a few Martha Stewart punches from my secret santa so put them to good use here. I didn't have to do much else to this card. The images is fabulous on it's own. All I added to it was some glittered flower centers.

Twelve Drummers Drumming

Here we are it's December 12th already! Wow! This month is going by so fast! It's our final day for the Twelve Days Of Christmas challenges at Catch The Bug. I hope you've enjoyed the challenges as much as we have! Before I get to the details of the challenge, let me share today's new image from the soon to be released Twelve Days Of Christmas set from Bugaboo Stamps. The Grand Prize winner will receive this set (uncolored) as well as a guest designer spot in January!

What a fabulous Deacon image don't you think?!!!

Now for today's challenge! Drummers are all about keeping the rhythm for the band while they play their music and if you've been anywhere shopping these last few weeks, there is no shortage of Christmas music. so that's our inspiration. Pick a Christmas song and use it to inspire your card or project creations.

I chose Santa Claus Is Coming To Town for my theme. He's the lead singer in this band and he has an elf and gingerbread man to back him up. I combined three of Bugaboo Stamps Bobblehead images( Bobblehead Santa, Elf & Gingerbread Man) into one to create this Christmas card!

I merged the three images using the PNG files and photo editing. I then printed them on white card stock and colored them using Prismacolor Pencils. I used my Dots Alphabet stamps to create the Sentiment. Designer papers are from Daisy D. A couple of buttons, some ribbon and some embossing and I was done!

Nine Ladies Dancing, Ten Lords A Leaping, Eleven Pipers Piping

I'm continuing with the Twelve Days Of Christmas challenge at Catch The Bug. with today'a challenge. Pipers wear plaid so we want your cards or projects to include some plaid. Before I get to my card I wanted to play catch up with the preview of the images of the soon to be released Twelve Days Of Christmas set at Bugaboo Stamps. The complete set is our Grand Prize to one of our lucky participants.

Wonderful images and so worth playing for! You have til December 16th to complete you projects and get them uploaded to the Catch The Bug site to be eligible to win. There will also be a winner drawn from each daily challenge and they will win their choice of five Bugaboo Stamps images.

I went "full on" fun with today's card! Rudolph is one of my all time favorite Christmas songs and movies so for my image choice I just had to use Bugaboo Stamps Rudolph Candy Cane! Here he is all decked out in his winter's best and making sure he's fashion forward with his red boots on his feet (or should I say hooves?).

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using Prismacolor Pencils. I fussy cut him and also fussy cut boots from my Sugar Plums designer paper and positioned them on his feet, cutting away parts of them for the feet in the back. All he needed was a shiny red nose and Glossy Accents took care of that.

Can you believe there are only 15 more days til Christmas?!!! The days are just clicking by and I still haven't done all my shopping yet!! One thing I can cross off my Christmas list is cards! I have lots and lots of Christmas cards so I chose to do a recipe card for today's challenge at Catch The Bug. The theme for the challenge is Santa Baby and Bugaboo Stamps has loads of cute Santa images to choose from but I thought Stocking Santa Star would make a great addition to my recipe card.

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using Copic markers. The DP is from Recolletions Sugar Plum mat pack. I created the tag using Print Shop and Curlz font. This is a super simple recipe that is always a hit.

But first. let me show you the next image in the new set from Bugaboo Stamps to be released on December 13th.. There are so many great bird images to choose from at Bugaboo Stamps, and I had a hard time deciding which one to use, but finally decided to use the adorable Little Winter Penguin image.

I printed him on white card stock and colored him using Copic markers. He's cut out using a circle punch and popped up in the center of my scalloped circle.Both the scalloped circle and border were cut using my Cricut and Elegant Edges cart. The DP is from my scrap pile of Stampin Up papers.

I'm so excited about today's kick off of the Twelve Days Of Christmas challenges at Catch The Bug! It's one of my favorite Christmas songs and I know it's gonna be a great time for everyone! Here are the details. Everyday from today til December twelve, we are gonna have a challenge for you based on the song. What do you get for playing along?!!! Prizes!!!!! Oh Christmas Tree-Tutorial

It's my turn to host the Wednesday tutorial at Catch The Bug, so I thought I would share my 3-D Christmas tree with y'all! It's a fun way to punch up a card and give it a little more dimension. I added my finished tree to this card featuring Ruby Christmas Tree from Bugaboo Stamps.

Here's what you'll need to make the tree. Three punched circles (2 5/16, 1 7/8 & 1 7/16) and your choice of adhesive. I use Scotch Quick Dry adhesive.

That's all there is to it! I know this was a long post but I love to paint a clear picture when it comes to tutorials! Hope to see you making lots of Christmas trees for your cards!

Give Thanks-Catch The Bug

Next to Christmas, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! I have lots of great memories of our family gatherings at this time of year. When I was a kid, my aunts and uncles and cousins would come to our house or we would go to theirs! Oh the smells and the laughter and my moms dressing and pecan pie! Yum!!!! This year will be my first Thanksgiving since my two older children moved out and they will be coming home to celebrate with us! I'm so looking forward to having my kids together in one place! Before I get to this weeks challenge, I wanted to take time to list the things I will be giving thanks for this year. I'm thankful for my sweet husband, who makes me laugh and loves me in spite of my quirks. My three wonderful children, Karissa, Bryanna & Hunter! I'm thankful I had a mom who loved God and showed me how to love with my whole heart. My dad who worked tirelessly to provide for us. Two great sisters, Six great brothers and many, many wonderful friends all over the country! I could go on and on, but I won't! It's time I get to this weeks challenge.

In honor of the Thanksgiving holiday, the challenge at Catch The Bug for today is to make a card with a Thanksgiving theme. I kept things sweet and simple for this one using Bugaboo Stamps Give Thanks-Turkey.

I printed the image on white card stock and colored two images using copic markers. I then cut out the head, beak and wings of one of the images and popped them up over the other image.

There are many names for this fat jolly elf and many interpretations of what he looks like but I think Jodie hit the nail on the head with this weeks fun image. He's Old World Santa from Bugaboo Stamps and he's sure to put a smile in your face and a Christmas song in your heart!

I printed him on white card stock and colored him using copic markers. His fur lined coat is made sparkly with Martha Stewarts fine glitter. A little glossy accents on his nose gives him that rosy look. The papers are from Recollections Sugar Plums mat pack.I little twine and a bow add the finishing touches.

Photo Inspiration

Good morning! It's time for this weeks challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Long! This is our last challenge for the year and I'm sad and will miss them but I do have all my Christmas cards and packages all finished up! I'm so ahead of the game for the Christmas season! I'm usually scrambling at the last minute. :)

Pick a Pocket

And come join in the fun challenge this week over at Catch The Bug! We're making pocket cards or cards with pockets! You choose but be sure to have some sort of pocket on your card.

I chose to add an embossed vellum pocket to the front of mine so I could slip a fun tag inside of it. I combined three of Bugaboo Stamps Christmas Bobble Head images using the PNG format to come up with this fun trio!

Elf, Santa & Gingerbread I printed the merged image on white card stock and colored it using Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I then fussy cut it and attached it to the front band. The pocket is stitched and attached the the card body.

Ink It Up-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

Wow! We are one challenge away from our last Christmas Stampin All Year Long challenges. This has been a great year and I have enjoyed seeing all your great creations and wanted to take the time to say Thanks for playing along.

Today's challenge is to put ink on a stamp that hasn't ever seen ink before! It can be a new stamp or one you have in your stash! Most of my stamps have seen ink at one time or another but I was able to pull this one out and show it some love! It's Warm Wishes For The Holidays and it's from Rubber Stampede. I think I bought it last year but it has never seen ink.

I colored it using prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I added some glossy accents to the noses, eyes and bells on rudolph!

Did I scare you?!! I didn't mean too! Just wanted to get your attention cause it's time for this weeks Catch The Bug challenge. Are you ready to be inspired? We have this really cool floral arrangement to get your creative juices flowing. Check it out.

The really great thing about an inspiration challenge is creative freedom. You may be inspired by the colors, elements or shapes. It's all in how you interpret it.

I was inspired by the ghost and some of the colors and came up with this card using Bugaboo Stamps Goofy Ghost Moonstar.

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using watercolor pencil. I wanted him to sparkle so I then covered his whole body excluding the eyes and nose with glossy accents and dazzling diamonds. I wanted his eyes to be glossy too so after I shook off the excess glitter I then added more glossy accents to his eyes.

To give the front a little more texture, I used my cuttlebug and birthday embossing folder and then sanded it.

Jingle All The Way-CSAYL

Time is clicking by and Christmas will be here before we know it! I'm pretty prepared with my cards this year thanks to Christmas Stampin All Year Long! An if you haven't already been participating it's still not too late! Today our challenge is to use bells on your cards. Our wonderful sponsor this week is Creations by AR!.

She has some fabulous Christmas templates and one of our lucky participants will get to choose two of them for there very own! I chose this fun fireplace template to work with.

I printed the template on red card stock and following the directions I cut and scored it where needed. I used a ruler and fine tipped marker to draw in the brick lines. Using my Martha Stewart punch I created the boughs and wreath and embellished them with punched bells and red stickles. The fire was colored using copic markers. The sentiment is SU's All Year Cheer II.

Love! You you are definitely gonna love this weeks new release image from Bugaboo Stamps! It's Faith Block and it's gorgeous and contains a very uplifting message!

I printed the image on Fabriano Water Color paper and colored it using water color pencils. I liked the texture of the gray background so I did not water color it. To give the card base some extra punch I sponged red pigment ink on red card stock and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder.

Happy Saturday and welcome to this weeks challenge at Catch The Bug! Are you ready to show your school spirit! I know we are!!!

October is the month that schools celebrate their homecoming so we thought it would be fun to do a challenge to go along with it! So pull out those papers and show off your school colors!!! Use any image you want but use your colors!

I was a Buckeye Hawk and the title for this post was part of our fight song. Our colors were Blue and Gold and we wore them proudly! I thought they would go perfectly with Bugaboo Stamps Ava Mermaid!

I printed the image on Fabriano watercolor paper and colored it using watercolor pencils . I kept the layout and design pretty clean and simple. Just adding a punched flower and a corrugated strip of card stock.

Catch The Bug joins The Greeting Farm

This is my second post today. For this weeks Christmas Stampin All Year Long post scroll down.

Fun and exciting things are happening at Catch The Bug today! The fabulous designers at The Greeting Farm has invited us, the team at Catch The Bug, to join them in today's challenge! Can I hear a WOOT, WOOT?!!! It's spy day challenge and we hope you join in on the fun too! You can find the details on their Farm Fresh Challenge Blog!

I got the privilege of playing with this little cutie! Her name is Ballet Anya and she's absolutely adorable and so much fun to color!

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using a combination of copic markers and prismacolor pencils. To give her tutu sparkle covered it with frosted lace stickles. I also used silver stickles on the base of the crown. The back ground paper was created by me using print shop and various fonts. The sentiment circle is Stampin Up's Think Happy Thoughts

It's time for this weeks Christmas Stampin All Year Long challenge and I'm so excited! Not only are we making cards with lots of sparkle, but this weeks sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps!!! I love me some Bugaboo!!

One of the things I love about Christmas is all the sparkle! From the shimmery snow to the glowing lights to all the pretty wrapping papers. So with that in mind, I came up with this Christmas scene side step card using Bugaboo's Ava Christmas Sitter and AKV House. .

I printed the image on white card stock and colored them using copic markers and then fussy cut them. I drew in the lights on the house using a sharpie marker. The Christmas tree was made using three punched circles measuring 1 7/16, 1 7/8 and 2 5/16. I'll post a tutorial for this on Sunday. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.

Animal Antics-Catch The Bug

Have we got a fun and furry challenge for you this week at Catch The Bug?!!! It's time for some animal antics! I thought it would be fun to use one of the new Make It Snappy images and one of the Bobble Head images for my project! I mean, they go together so well. You'll see what I mean.

I got the idea to make a little cookie treat holder and was thinking "Got Milk? & cookies" so I printed off the Bobble Head image, then I decided to make it a Thank You set so I added the card using Udderly Amazing. I printed them both on white card stock and colored them using watercolor pencils. I had a small take out box that I disassembled to make my template for my box, I just omitted the top flaps.

Seeing Spots-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

It's getting closer to Christmas and I'm so prepared this year thanks to these weekly challenges. How about you? I printed the image on white card stock and colored the main image using a lead pencil and the presents using watercolor pencils. I also masked the panel and colored it using a lead pencil and smudged it with my finger. I then sprayed it with hairspray to prevent further smudging. For the polka dots I used a fine tip marker and added some dotting around the image. There are also polka dots in my background paper from My Minds Eye and Daisy D. The banner is from Shannon's Sentiment and I also added some pencil smudging to it too.

Cancer Stinks-Oldie But Goodie-Bugaboo Stamps

I have a story to tell you! It's a story about a young woman in her early thirties who discovered she had a lump in her breast. She had a mammogram which led to a biopsy which led to a diagnosis of cancer. That was a very scary time in her life and in the lives of her family. That young woman is my sister! A woman who as a child completely freaked out at the sight of a needle coming toward her. The school nurse would call me out of my class room to come and calm her down when they gave her shots at school. This beautiful young woman had to endure surgeries, chemo therapy, radiation and countless needles all without her sissy to calm her down. She lived in Hawaii and I lived in Oregon and we both had small children. It was a hard time for her but she fought just as hard and kicked cancers butt! It's been twelve years and she's a survivor! She's my hero!!!

It's in honor of my sister and Breast Cancer Awareness month that I bring you this weeks Oldie But Goodie from Bugaboo Stamps. Her motto while she was going through this time in her life was that cancer could not take her smile. I hope this puts a smile on her face!

Make It Snappy-Bugaboo Stamps

Here's my cards using Merry Christmoose! I made a set of four! I was coloring while watching the Rangers-Tigers ball game and it was so intense I needed a little distraction! Coloring is good therapy!

I printed the images on white card stock and colored them using prismacolor pencils 7 gamsol. I kept the layout simple keeping the focus on the image. The papers are olive, burgundy and designer papers from Marks Finest Papers and My Minds Eye.

Double Z Treat Holder Tutorial

Good morning! I promised you a tutorial on the Double Z Treat Holder that I had earlier in the week and here it is. I'm not good at summarizing so there are lots of pictures and I hope my instructions are clear. I'm starting with the finished treat holder so you can get a picture of what it's supposed to look like. I didn't include the embellishments in the directions cause I figure you're gonna want to add your own flair to your project. The image I used is Halloween Bobble Head Mummy from Bugaboo Stamps.:

Here are the basic supplies you need to get started.

Card base:
Card stock measuring 8 1/2 x 9 1/2 ( I chose pumpkin)
(1) strip of black card stock measuring 2 x 6 inches
(1) strip of gold card stock measuring 1 1/2 x 6 inches

Band:
(1) strip of black card stock measuring 8 1/2 x 2 inches
(1) strip of gold card stock measuring 8 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches

Image and embellishments

For instructional purposes I used white card stock for the following two photos so you could see the score and fold lines better.

Make score lines parallel to the bottom at 2 1/2 and 2 1/4 inches.

Turn card stock and make score lines at 1 1/2, 3, 3 1/4, 6 1/4, 6 1/2, and 8 inches.

Now turn your card stock again and add 1/2 inch score lines on both sides of just the bottom portion. (refer to the photo for this, these are your glue tabs)

Cut away the portion with the solid lines. You can pencil this in on your card stock if you need to and erase later. It's up to you.

This is what it should look like after you've made your cuts. Now it time to make your folds.

Fold the two inside scores on both sides towards the center, The outside scores on both sides away from the center and the bottom scores up towards the center.

Burnish your edges with a bone folder so they are nice and crisp.

The next photo show what your folds should look like.

Now it's time to assemble your treat holder.

With the front flaps folded, add your adhesive to half of the the flap and attach the front strip of card stock. I also like to add adhesive to my front strip to give it a little more stability. While holding your folded card closed, attach the front strip making sure to center it.

It's time to make your band. I like to attach my smaller strip of card stock to my larger strip before I make my score lines. Score the band at 2 1/2, 2 7/8, 5 7/8 and 6 1/4 inches and crease, fold and glue.

This is what your card and band should look like. I used my cuttlebug and label one nestabilities to create a frame for my image. When attaching your image to the front of you card, you are going to add your adhesive to only the portion attached to the right flap.

That's pretty much it! As you can see from the completed picture I added a little punched moon and some hand cut lettering to finish it off, but you can embellish yours any way you want. Sorry this was so long but I hope it was clear enough! Have fun creating your own treat holders.

I Was Working In The Lab Late One Night

When my eyes beheld a eery site! Eery but sweet! In fact, unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, this weeks challenge at Catch The Bug is full of treats! I guess by now you've figured out that the challenge is all about Halloween, but that's not all! There's a twist!!! . The twist is we're not making cards. We're making anything but a card!!! You should see all the fun and spooky projects the team came up with for the challenge. You can find them here on the Catch The Bug blog. Here's my contribution to the challenge. A coffin candy box featuring the ever so cute Halloween Bobble Head Dracula!!!

This box is 6 inches long, 3 inches at it widest part and 2 inches deep so it will hold a good amount of candy. I printed the image larger than I usually would so it would cover the coffin (one of the pluses of working with digi images). He's printed on white card stock and colored with copic markers.

It's Purple Time-Christmas Stampin All Year Long

Christmas has gone purple this week! At least it has at Christmas Stampin All Year Long. This is not a problem for me since I love the color purple. I love penguins and I've had this little guy colored and in my stash for a while now just waiting to go on a card. Since it's Oldie But Goodie day at Catch The Bug it was the perfect time to bring him out and put him to use! He's such a cutie, I'm sure he'll melt you heart! Halloween Cat from the new Silhouettes

This was a very quick and easy card! I printed the image on mustard card stock, masked the moon with a 2 1/2 inch circle and sponged rust ink til I had the look I wanted. Then I taped a strip of black tulle to one end of the card face and hit it with the heat gun. A few strips of black card stock made up the fence.

Sweet Ava Christmas

Happy Monday morning to you all! I had a little bit of time on my hands this morning and so I thought to myself, should I spend my extra time playing around on facebook or should I make a card?!! Sorry facebook! I chose to make a card and I had the perfect inspiration for it. I used to do the challenges on Split Coast Stampers all the time! In fact, that's where I grew as a stamper and learned so many of the techniques I use in my card making today! So I headed on over this morning to see what the technique challenge was all about. Oh my word! Talk about a great challenge! The challenge is to color your image using a lead pencil. What an amazing look it gives to an image! I'm so glad I tried it! Here's my card using Ava Christmas Sitter from Bugaboo Stamps.

Using the instructions found here, I printed the image on white card stock but softened it by using my quick print mode on my printer. All I had to do was color it in using a #2 pencil coloring darker in shaded areas and lighter in areas where there would be more light. The DP is Chill Out Winter from ki memories and Best Occasions Mixed Media Pack. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado not sure of the name of the stamp.

It's challenge time and Anything Goes& World Card Making DayCatch The Bug

Good morning my crafty friends! Are you ready to get cracking on this weeks challenge at Catch The Bug? I know I am! Wanna know what the challenge is? Well, I kind of gave it away with the post title. Yep, that's right! This week you get to decide what you want to do. It's Anything Goes!

I'll get things started by showing you what I did using one of the fun images from Bugaboo Stamps Make It Snappy set.

Birthday Fishes

I started by printing the image on white card stock and coloring it with a combination of copic markers and prismacolor pencils. The background paper was created by me using Print Shop. To create the waves I used my Fiskars embossing folder and Cuttlebug.

Now for the best part of the challenge. You could win some fabulous Bugaboo Stamps images by joining us. Two for third, four for second and seven for first (you must use a Bugaboo image to be eligible for first prize).

Baby mine, don't you cry -Bugaboo Stamps New Release

Baby mine, dry your eyes Rest your head close to my heart Never to part, baby of mine. I just love that lullaby especially when Bette Midler sang it in the movie Beaches but what does that have to do with todays post?!!!

It's all about this weeks New Release from Bugaboo Stamps. I imagine this sweet little baby drifting off to sleep while listening to that song. Her name is Pea Pod Boo and she's super sweet!!!

I printed her on white card stock and colored her using copic markers. Designer paper is from Nana's Nursery It's A Boy pack. The ruffled borders were made using a doilie. I just cut it in half, cut away the center and made 1/2 inch cuts every few inches along the cut edge (just like you do in sewing). Then just had to glue it to the edges of green card stock.

ABC-Catch The Bug

Good morning! Hope you had a great weekend! I don't usually post on Mondays but today is ABC (Anything But A Card) Monday at Catch The Bug and it's my turn to be one of the hosts of this challenge. I love creating things that are three dimensional so this was a lot of fun for me.

Since Halloween is fast approaching I thought it would be fun to create a Luminary with a little twist. I added a stamped window using the fabulously spooky Magical Tidbit House from Bugaboo Stamps. To take it up just a notch, I added this cute little Brats Halloween Dracula to the outside of the luminary. Just a little sand in the bottom and a lighted candle or one of those battery powered candles and you're ready to set a spooky mood for those trick or treaters.

I printed the image on vellum and colored it using copic markers. I used watercolor paper to make the bag since it is so thick but you could use any card stock that is sturdy. Finished dimensions are
3 x 5 x 6inches. The window measures 3 x 6 inches.

A riddle and a challenge

I have a riddle for you today. What's pink, green and black and looks like this?!!

It's this weeks challenge at Catch The Bug!!!! The team and I have some really great cards to inspire you.

Here's mine using one of the scary but O so cute monsters from Bugaboo Stamps mini set, Monster Blocks!

I think I got a little carried away with this one. I printed the image on watercolor paper and colored him using watercolor pencils. I pulled out my American Crafts Celebration paper and went to work punching cicles. Using my Cricut and dies, I cut the tags and lettering. The sentiment is from SU's All About You set (retired).

Here's my card using Rudolph! What a cutie!!!

Since Rudolph came in PNG form, I was able to add the sentiment and ornament using my photo editing. I colored him using prismacolor pencils and gamsol. Just a few embellishments and some matting and I was done.

Oldie But Goodie-Catch The Bug

I love Oldie But Goodie day at Catch The Bug. I get to show you a great Bugaboo Stamps image that has been around for a while and is still as great as the day it was released. Since Halloween is right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to play around with one of the many cute images in the Bobble Head Halloween set. I also wanted to play around with the tutorial for crayon rubbed embossing that can be found here on Split Coast Stampers.

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using watercolor pencils. It's hard to see but I did a spiderweb design on the background paper using rubbed embossing.

I printed the image on white card stock and colored her using prismacolor pencils. That cute spider was made using a 3/4 inch circle punch, one inch square punch and a hole punch for the eyes. The sentiment is from the dollar bin at Michaels and is layered on a punched tag.
